Tables in Wonderland Going Away?

I saw on one of the other forums that there is a rumor that the TiW card is getting phased out. Has anyone else heard this or know anything about it? We were going to get one when we are there next week.... now second guessing if it will still be around for the full year that it is good for. waiting

This is purely speculation on my part, but I doubt they will sell you the card while representing to you that it's good for a year and then cancel that deal mid-year. What they might do is stop selling the card while continuing to honor those that were previously sold.

Could you please give your source for this.

I agree with CCP - they won't sell you the card if they can't honor the 12 months you are paying for.

On a different note, I hope it's just vicious rumors - we use our TIW all the time. We've had it for 2 years, and it pays for itself many times over.

I see no signs of it going away, but it may be evolving or getting integrated with Disney Dining. Along with the discount card, there are special events. You may have seen the amateur looking e-newsletters. I thought it was a scam, but apparently not and they fill up fast.

I saw it first on the Touring Plans chat. They referenced WDWMagic. It is called a rumor, but it sounds like if they are not phasing it out completely then they are making major changes.

Yeah the last article I can even find that was posted anywhere about TIW having any changes was from 2014 , so I'll take this as a total rumor and not going to happen. WDWMagic has not posted anything about TIW since Jan 2014, and those changes have already happened.

Ha ha! Yeah I found that forum thread you must have seen about the TIW. Total speculation! No validity to this what so ever.

I hate to say this but I've read this elsewhere (original rumour came from a staff member at the boathouse however as its the same chain as rainforest etc who don't accept TiW anyway I took it with a large grain of salt), however now I have heard From someone that works with Disney that they are not going to be advertising the card or recommending it in the future so it makes me think changes are afoot. Still taken with a large grain of salt mind you. And we still plan to renew ours later this year Smile

If Disney does end up phasing out TiW they should still honor what they sold. When Disney stopped selling photopass+ and switched to memory maker, they still honored the already sold photopass+. From what everyone has said, it looks like it may not be phased out.

Nobody of any authority has said anything about TIW being phased out yet. All seems like it started from a comment form a server at the Boathouse bout not taking the card, now the stories are changing to they will eventually take it, but it takes time to go through the red tape. Best we can do is wait and see.

We had lunch there a few weeks ago. When we asked about using TiW, they just told us it wasn't set up to take it. It's a new restaurant and hadn't worked out an arrangement to take the discount is the only thing I took away from it.

Some people...

We purchased our card on Thursday and the expiration date is August 31 2016. So we are good for an entire year. The CM did not say anything about it going away. Smile

The Boathouse is now accepting AP and DVC discount so TiW may follow

Hi Sally-Ann, yes that's apparently when this whole rumor started, because a customer supposedly asked why they didn't take TIW and the server said that TIW was being phased out and they wouldn't be taking the card at all. The only mention of this that I have seen is in forum posts on other forums & FB and that is it. Nothing fom any Disney sources.

Card purchased! Case Closed! I think I have decided to get one too. If I do, it will be next month and I will let you all know if there are any issues! silly
