Tables in Wonderland for one?

I am thinking about the Tables in Wonderland card - would that be worthwhile for one person? The free valet parking at DTD alone might make it worth it, but can't you also valet at any resort if you are dining there? Anyone know if there are only certain restaurants at DTD that you would have to use to get free valet? Maybe the ones that offer a TIW discount?

Well, I may have answered my own question. Pays to read. It only runs through Jan 1, and includes the participating restaurants. Hmm.

We love the TIW card. However... You would really have to crunch the numbers to see if you would save much. There are two of us and we eat two table service meals a day plus drinks with dinner.

How much will you spend during the 13 months it is active? Assuming that you will pay $100 for the TIW card, you would need to spend around $480 to breakeven(tax is calculated on the discounted amount).

And refresh my memory..... Is valet at resorts where you are dining I included?

$469.48 is the magic break-even number disregarding discounts you would have gotten without the TIW card, and perks you get with it.

Hmmm...when you break it down that way I would probably benefit. Are there not also some QS that take it too?

From the TIW site: Resort valet services are complimentary to Tables in Wonderland members, for the sole purpose of dining at one of the participating Resort restaurants. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt from the participating Resort restaurant at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle. On Tables in Wonderland Block-Out dates, there will be a charge for parking and valet services.

We LOVE our card for the purpose of parking in all 4 parks too.
You will get FREE Parking at All 4 Parks in the following two ways:
1. BEFORE 5PM: TIW will reimburse parking in any of the 4 parks if eating at a TIW restaurant, returning the receipt to guest services and leaving the park w/in 3 hours.
2.AFTER 5PM: show your TIW card at Auto Plaza and they allow you to park for free.

My husband and I like to sleep in some of the days we are at Disney. On the days we sleep in we go to a park in the early afternoon, eat at a TIW restaurant, get reimbursed for parking and leave w/in 3 hours. We then go to another park and by that time it is after 5pm so we get to park for free. We don't want to get to the parks late every time we go, but on the days we do sleep in, we park FREE thanks to TIW.

After our five day trip next week, we will have spent 38 days at Disney world in 2013.
19 of those days we slept in and used our TIW card in the above way. 19 days of parking was free this year thanks to the TIW card. That equals $285. We spent $100 for the TIW card. That is a $185 profit in 2013, before even factoring in any of our food discounts.

Yep, Tables in Wonderland means "tables," not QS. I revisited this link - thanks everyone. Still thinking about it... mickey

I am considering getting the TiW card. I am a Florida resident and boyfriend is an AP holder. So far we plan on eating at Le Cellier, 'Ohana and Liberty Tree Tavern next year. We will probably eat at more restaurants. So my question is, how do we figure out whether or not it would be worth it?

We decided to get a TiW card on our recent trip. My problem is remembering to use it! We saved around $20 on this trip, but we only used it at 1900 Park Fare, Via Napoli, and Flame Tree BBQ. We also ate at Biergarten, but we were on the Candlelight Processional package, so we were not eligible for TiW discounts. On our two spring trips, we are taking family along and we'll be doing a lot more table service so they can get the full experience. I expect that the car will pay for itself with very little issue this year.

Per the discussion regarding the counter service locations, Flame Tree BBQ is one exception to the rule. It's counter service and they do accept TiW. Ask everywhere you go!

I decided based upon my past few trips that I will not get the value from it - I like to graze more than eat larger meals for the most part.

I feel the same way. If I do get value it will be nominal. Better to have the freedom to eat what and when and where I want without concern for TIW or not. Same deal with the meal plan for me.

At Animal Kingdom, Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus all accept the card because of the lack of Disney owned TS. The only Disney owned TS is Tusker House. Rainforrest along with Yak and Yeti are third party owned.

I'm thinking about this when I go in February. With three of us going without the dining plan, it should take care of a good chunk of the break even point especially since we're going to CRT for breakfast.
