Tell me about Magical Express

We haven't used Magical Express since the first year it debuted, so I'm wondering if it's changed at all. When we took it, they loaded people onto busses, showed a video, and dropped off at several resorts within the same resort area. Is that still how it goes? Are there lists for which resorts get dropped off first?

As of two years ago, that's pretty much exactly how it still worked. We'll let you know when we get back if it's still the same...

We always use it, and that is basically how it goes, although there is usually only a few resorts on a bus, so you aren't waiting too long if you are the last to be dropped off.

I've never used it. How long do you think is a worst case from airport to resort? Do they wait quite a while at the airport?

I've only used it once, as we usually get a car, but the one time we did the wait was maybe ten or fifteen minutes.

We arrived on a Saturday evening, and were staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I THINK we were the first drop point and I only think they went to three resorts.

For my opinion, its a very good service.

It really depends when you arrive. I think the busses wait until certain flights are in? I think worst case airport-hotel (if you're the last hotel) might be 90 minutes.

Do you typically manage to leave the airport before your luggage would have come out?

It's close -- but it's totally worth not having the aggravation - and though it's not REALLY, it does feel kind of magical just having your suitcases THERE when you get back to your hotel after your first day in the MK (I mean, where else would you go your first day?)

Yeah--not having to lug your stuff around is great. But we definitely had to make sure we had everything we needed in our carry-ons!

SO true, but if you are planning on using magical express, make sure you have everything you will need for your first day on you, because your suitcase may not arrive for a few hours.

The only time we used it we were going to dinner when we arrived. It worked out well, because we went straight to the restaurant from the hotel, and by the time we got back our luggage was in the room.

Probably didn't hurt that it was evening and there was less people arriving at that time.

DME is absolutely awesome in my opinion, especially if you are arriving early in the day or in the afternoon and want to go right to a park and get your vacation started fast. It is a Godsend! My bit of advice though...keep anything you will be needing within the first few hours of your arrival in your carry on because it will be several hours before your stuff gets to your room. So if you need a quick change of clothes, bring those in your carry on. Just my 2 cents Smile Oh and by the way....Glad to be back here again!
