Theme pools or quiet pools?

I love theme pools, but they always get too crowded and noisy for me, and I end up migrating to the quiet or "far away" pools. What resorts have the best quiet pools (or the most un-crowded theme pools?)? I'd love to stay somewhere I've never been before and pool feedback is useful.

I enjoy the quiet pools, but feel an unexplained desire to hit the theme pools most of the time. Feels more "real" for some reason! (I know; weird!)

Favorite theme pools are AKL, Beach Club, Coronado Springs, and Boardwalk (so far!).

I like the theme pools. They have the pool bars (which usually have a game on), and it's fun to watch all the families enjoying themselves together in the pool.

At SSR, we stayed in the Grandstand section, which had an awesome secondary pool. I think at the most there were five other people there, while the main pool was always packed. The secondary pool also had a soda station and it's own bar, which never got crowded.

The pool at WLV was very nice and quiet as well, we only saw 2 or 3 people in it. Of course it is supposed to be for DVC Members only...but no one would ever notice if you snuck in! Same thing goes for the new Kidani Village, it is supposed to have a great pool area!

I'm going to confess that we have gone to the WLV pool to avoid the main crowd. There was almost no one there so we can't have been too much of an imposition. None of you DVC owners resent us for it, right?

Nah...I would do the same thing even if we weren't DVC members!

I'm really excited to see the new Kidani Pool! I might have to book there sometime soon so that I can actually use it!

Yeah I think it might be hard to inconspicuously get over there if you're not a guest.

Yeah--CBR seems like the right place to go to find a pool SOMEWHERE that's not crowded! You have so many choices. mickey

CBR has 7 quiet pools? Yow!

We almost always use the "quiet" pool or Lap Pool at the Dolphin. That's where the pool bar is. We wander over to the Grotto to use the hot tub & the slide if we want, but we set up camp & do our lounging by the quiet pool. It's a nice big pool with great seating. The Cabana Bar & Grill is probably my favorite place for lunch. The recently renovated it & it's gorgeous.
I'll take pix there next weekend for you if you want.

Would love to see pix. Also, no pool bar at the main pool?

No. It's next to the lap pool. The way the pool complex is set up, the lap pool is right near the Grotto. It's just acoss a walkway & a wading pool type area. It's not like the other resorts where it's in a seperate area of the resort.
