Those schedules

You know for a long time I did not realize there was more to pick up when you entered the park than maps. And then more recently I felt confident enough in my own skills to just find my own way around. But over this past year I have come to find the other sheet of paper that is incredibly useful. I am of course referring to those wonderful schedules. Why they do many things including helping you find what ride are closed or where to find characters, what I use them most for is to find out when the performances will take place. And know where is this more obvious then at Epcot. I'd often stumble into the middle of a performance of something like the players in England or walk by to see Off Kilter perform and think I wish I had seen the whole thing. But about a year ago, I discovered these truly awesome tools that have allowed me to enjoy each and every show Disney has to offer. I may be in the minority here as you most of you may use them every trip, but I have really begun to enjoy these special performances almost as much as the rides. In a recent trip to Epcot, I went to see British Revolution three times. Man, are those guys good. So do you use them to plan what performances to catch or do you prefer to stumble on to things. Just curious as to what you think.

I am HUGE on the entertainment offerings when visiting any Disney park. They are just as much a part of my enjoyment as any ride (moreso) in some cases. I ALWAYS grab an entertainment guide when entering a park and then plan out when we are going to see when to make sure we don't miss something that is a MUST see. They are the tool around which we plan the rest of our day (well, that and meals laugh ). Glad that you have discovered what I consider to be the most valuable planning tool Disney puts out on a daily basis. Smile

We used to grab one right a way, but now with the Disney apps on my phone we have been using that more. Last time we did have to get a schedule though as Off Kilter was not on the Disney app schedule.
We LOVE British Revolution also, they are great!

I always thought those things were just another paper to grab, and never did it... but it sounds like it's worth it!

This trip we really want to watch more of the performances - any suggestions on what shouldn't be missed?

British Revolution at Epcot is my favortie, but the acrobats in China is probably the jaw dropping performance at Disney. Waiter and wine server in France are impressive as well. Two other favorites are the actors in England and the Ziti Sisters in Italy (they pick volunteers from the audiance to line up in the style of a photo in a very memorable way). Highlights where these are useful in other parks for me include Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial, Mulch Sweat and Shears at HS, and the African Drum band right out of the Safari area at AK. I regret that I don't know what they are called. Anyone know there name? I got selected as a volunteer last time I watched them. Great embarasing fun.

We love Off Kilter in Canada too. we've been watching them for more than 12 years, and they still rock! Jamie who plays the bag pipes used to do bag pipes for the Lake Wales HS band when we lived there, so we feel connected. The fiddler is also very good when Jamie is not there on bag pipes.
The jammtiors at EPCOT are funny too. plus at HS all the street performers are hilarious. We used to just walk through the crowd and go on by them, but now we stop and watch, they do a lot of improv that just makes you laugh!

I have never seen any of the DTD entertainment! When do these happen, and where? Will have to put that on my next trip to do list, along with a few carryovers from this past trip that I "just did not get to...."
