So I'm a little worried about "Planes." I watched a Pixar documentary the other night and they were talking about how they were a little worried when Disney brought them in-house about some of the things that they never wanted Pixar to do. One of them was straight to DVD releases. Obviously this isn't quite the same thing since it's not using the "Cars" characters as far as I know. I still find it bit worrying though, what do you think?
Personally... im not a fan of Cars. To me what they are doing with Cars 2 is even worse. Why bring in a "Spy" element into it? Anyways... my point is even with that... why take it up into the air? I guess im personally tired as a parents seeing talking vehicles. lol

I never saw or got into Cars so this is as much a non-event as that for me.
I haven't seen Cars yet. I just borrowed it from a friend today. I'm not so sure about Planes.
Yeah I had never heard of it either. At first i thought this was a thread about real planes...LOL
I enjoy Disney animated movies and have a large collection of them but the straight to DVD movies just aren't my thing. Planes doesn't thrill me. I guess they needed something to appeal to boys in that market with all the direct to DVD Tinkerbell movies they have been making lately.
I absolutely loved Cars, when I got around to watching it, which was pretty recently. I don't know if I'll see this or not. If DS were old enough to have an opinion we might buy it, but otherwise, I doubt it.
I think it's important to note that everything I've seen about this, Pixar is very quick to correct anyone who thinks this is a Pixar pic. It's Disney, sort of based loosely on the Cars franchise. Yes, I know there are those who think Pixar = Disney, but most Pixar fans (and Pixar apparently) sort of disagree.
I hope that Disney lets Pixar continue to do their own thing, and doesn't dilute their genius. But I'm dubious.
You can put me down as very skeptical.

I'm not sure about it...because I'm not sure about Cars 2. Oh, I'll still go see it. I know my son will love Planes though.
