Thoughts and Prayers for Boston

The thoughts and prayers of all of us here at Walt Disney World for Grownups go out to the runners, spectators and families affected by the tragic bombings in Boston today. It is with the utmost respect we salute the first responders and heroic community on the ground helping their fellow man during this intense act of violence. We know that we have several members and readers that are very active in the running world, as well as those living in the Boston area. Our hearts go out to them during this troubling time.

We were walking on that street 3weeks ago. Horrible to hear of such senseless actions. Truely heartbreaking.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and the entire city of Boston. I have family who lives in Boston and they are all home safe thank goodness...and thank you to all the first responders who never hesitate.

It is senseless. Truly senseless. I am just thankful that my friends who were running are safe and my heart breaks for those who were less fortunate. I encourage everyone who can to get out and give blood (Red Cross is already responding with additional units of blood). And for everyone, lace up your running shoes this week and go for a walk/jog/run and let's show these terrorists that they will not stop us!!

My heart broke when I heard this sad I don't understand how people can be so heartless and cruel. My thoughts and prayers are with the runners, families, friends, and the city of Boston. What a horrible day for those people!
I also just heard that mile 26 was in memoriam for the Newtown families and many of them were there. They have been through enough. I also heard an 8 year old was one of the people killed. Awful, just awful.

It's funny how the human race can both disappoint and humble you at the same time. Disappoint that people could ever do such a thing, and then humble at the kindness of those there helping out their fellow man. Runners going straight to the hospital to give blood. Such an awful, awful thing to do Sad

This is just so sad. We got to see the absolute worst, and the absolute best, of human behaviour within a few moments. The act itself was so horrific, but those that ran towards the blast area immediately after to offer assistance were so brave. No one knew if there would be another blast, but they ran to help anyway. I have nothing but admiration for all the first responders, bystanders, and medical personnel. My prayers are with all those affected.

We feel very lucky - everyone we knew that was competing from our town is safe.
