Touching the Slipper

OK...so I stole this idea from another Disney web site I frequent. But I think it's a good one.

The idea is that because we cannot all be at WDW at the same time, members of the board find one spot to touch that lets other members know they are being thought of. In this case, its the slipper on Cinderella on the mosaic on the wall at Cinderella's Castle (in the walk way through the castle).

Great photo! And that's a really good idea. Do you have a group of people on the other site that you share the photos with? Sounds fun!

So everyone just takes a picture of themselves touching the slipper? That's pretty cool. What would be really interesting is to do it with something that is consistently different, so that each person's photo would have a slightly different backdrop.

Ace - we do share photos on the other site. And somewhere we have a bunch of them. Donna has put them on another web site for photos, but cant remember where. LOL I'm still looking for most of them. When I find them...I'll put some here.

Cdub - While the idea of having a different backdrop is a good idea, it is sometimes difficult to do. The idea with the slipper at Cinderella's castle is that it is always there...and always has been. It seems to be the one consistent at both US Disney parks. And knowing that friends have touched that one spot over the years provides a bond with those have gone before and you touching it, for those that come after.

But if anybody has a good idea for another spot, I'm sure everybody would be all over it.

I love this idea. I'm trying to think of someplace that meets cdub's critera. Although M&D raise a good point that if it's too changing there's a chance it won't be there in a few years. Anyone have any thoughts?

That's a cool idea!

There aren't any web cams at WDW, are there? It'd be cool if we could schedule a wave-by whenever someone goes to the World....

There are a few out there. I remember watching some hurricanes roll through via webcam!

Here's one. I think from time to time people who are staying there set up webcams at their resorts too...

I'm trying to think if there are any hedge sculptures that they do differently during the year. Or is that only during Flower and Garden?

Imagineer -- You win the award for being "on top of things" on vacation. That's great that you saw this thread and just happened to be able to fit this into your trip mickey

Thinking of other places to take photos that are consistent between the two parks: maybe something having to do with Dumbo or the Teacups?

I love this idea, how cool to all be connected! We are so making this our first stop next time we go, which will b enext weekend for the half and full marathon (watching, not running). We are on the volunteer wait list, so if they don't need us, we'll go watch anyway - after we touch the slipper!

I love this idea! It just occurred to me that: I've actually never been inside Cinderella Castle! Crazy, right? I guess we always assumed that it was just a restaurant inside, plus we're always going around to attractions. I guess we really need to slow down!

Anyways, I'm definitely going to do this when I go in May!
