Toy Story 3

The Dave and I are at a stalemate..and you all get to be the tiebreaker.

Do you have to see Toy Story 2 in order to see Toy Story 3?

I'm convinced no since there is almost a 10 year gap between the two..also..I've seen Toy Story 3 so ultimately..not my problem laugh . He has never seen it but is convinced he needs to before he sees TS3. The easy solution would be to rent it yes? The problem? We rarely get to go to movies and we have the opportunity tonight because we have a babysitter..woot!

So what are you thoughts? Or else I'm going to make him watch Eclipse laugh laugh

I know I am a little late, but NO you do not need to see Toy Story 2 to understand Toy Story 3. If you have an opportunity to go see it . . DO IT!!! It was amazing.

We've just got back from seeing TS3. Awesome movie, a real rollercoaster of emotion. I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone who hasn't seen it yet so won't post too much.

We were almost the last ones out of the theatre and it's definately worth staying for the credits as there are a couple of good jokes in there.

I think it does stand up on it's own if you haven't seen the first two films. Some of the more subtle plot lines may pass you by, but the main story is strong enough on it's own and you can quickly work out how the old characters relate to each other.

I think the biggest laugh for us was when 'spanish mode' was enabled (not saying which toy... would be a spoiler).

edit: tissues definately a good idea if you're prone to weeping at movies.

We saw it last night, due in no small part to you guys. We absolutely loved it. It sits near the top of my all-time favorite animated films. Can't wait to see it again.

I think it may top my list of Pixar movies..but I'm not sure..I'll need to re-watch Monster's Inc. again before I can give away that number one slot. Number two for sure.
