4- Skipping Animal Kingdom altogether

Love this idea. Especially if you're not park hopping. It's a no-branier for me. I don't want to spend a whole day there.

J (Hazegry) would stay there all day with his camera, if he could. Safari after safari after safari........

I agree with you though it is not an all day park.

I would go in, do a ride, maybe two or three, and get out. Everest being one of course (which I haven't done because if was close my first and only time I was there)

huh? What is this?!

I have a blog post coming up about it, but I've never seen it. LoL... It's a wishing well that's off to the side of Cinderella's Castle in a little alcove. It wasn't part of the original design, it was added I think in the 90s.

One time we had to stop because a group of giraffes were blocking the the path. The pics he got were incredible. it looked like they were in our laps.

Make sure while you are there look at Cinderella's fountain bend down and look at it from a childs point of view. (hint- she is wearing the crown)

Not the fountain, that's actually one of my very favorite spots. Great tip BTW, a lot of people miss that.
It's the Wishing Well that I've never seen! Which is on the path between the Castle and Tomorrowland.

I skipped AK last year - there was just too much other stuff I wanted to do more. If I were going alone again this year, I'd skip it again - there aren't enough "must-do" attractions IMO. But hubby loves AK, and we do have that character lunch to look forward to this year. Still, I hope we can clear out by mid-afternoon and head back to Epcot for more F&W Fest.

I guess I should have been more clear. While you are over there looking at the wishing well stop by the fountain and look at the crown. Do as I mean not as I say. laugh

That should not be a problem. Even with J's 2 or 3 safari's we are still gone by 1:30-2:00. Then again it is just the two of us so we skip the dino play area. We also skip Rafiki's Planet Watch. We have been there a couple of times and there is never anything on display (animal wise) or happening in the vet area. Maybe we just have bad timing. We did get Rafiki's and Pocahontas autographes , but you can only get those so many times before it becomes a been there done that thing. biggrin We go to AK to go on the safari at least 2 times trip but that is because I love the giraffes and J's loves his camera. rolling

I love AK - I didn't think I would the last time I was in WDW. By the way has anyone heard that Disney is thinking about closing Festival of the Lion King to get started on Avatar? I was on the disney blog when that was brought up. Festival of the Lion King is my absolute favorite followed by Finding Nemo. Just a kid at heart.

Festival of the Lion King is a fantastic show! i hope they keep it open (at least when i'm there crossfingers ) I really miss Tarzan Rocks though. To me that was WAY better than the Finding nemo show.

My 5 new things I'm doing next trip are
1. Running a 5K at the F&W festival
2. Going in early November rather in December or January
3. make ADR's
4. Staying at POR
5. Wearing an occassion button since it will be our honeymoon biggrin

1) Cup Cake Crawl - I doubt I'll stick to DFB's plan of attack but I'll come up with something!
2) Eat a Citrus Swirl - never ever had one!
2) Via Napoli - been eyeing up those pizzas since it opened and can't wait t try one!
4) Teppen Edo - again, somewhere we've never ate and I'm really looking forward to the 'shogun' style cooking!
5) A drink that glows - Every trip since I turned 21 I've said I'm going to have a drink that glows at Victoria Falls at AKL and each trip has come and gone and I still havn't had that drink! It WILL happen on this trip!

Yeah, I'm not surprised pretty much all of mine revolve around new foodie experiences lol!

You have several to chose from! I like the Magical Star Cocktail, it's sweet, tart & fruity!

awesome
We usually do what I call the dining tour of Disney. I have ADR's and the rest of the trip is fitted around the DR's.

Wormie, I was wondering what led to you dropping the park hopper?
I am considering dropping it too on the next trip...we only used it on the last day this time
because we had reservations for dinner at Epcot and I wanted to spend more time at MK first.
I don't think I need it but it's like a security blanket, I don't know if I can give it up!

Angie & Wormie - I rarely buy the park hopper and I don't usually miss it. There's plenty to do at each park for a whole day. It's a great way to save a little bit of money.

I'm with you Allie. We used them 6 out of 7 days, and on one day we were in 3 parks!

Kristen and Dee, I LOVE live from the World reports. Keep em coming......

I was just walking into my school this AM at dark thirty, and a fellow teacher spotted my Mickey bag across the parking lot. Turns out her family will be going down to the World during our break week too....we will be there at the same time. I did not know there was another one of me on staff....awesome! mickey

Oh that can be so dangerous Doc! Every year more and more people from my department become Disney fans. When we go down in Nov, (30 Days ! clapping yay , 30 Days! clapping yay clapping ) 2 other people I work with are going down too! The one guy works directly with me, we just lucked out and were able to go down at the same time. I would have hated to pull the 'Seniority" card on him.

Yep, Mr. Hub, spreading that Disney love! So many of our students come in with Disney shirts - just struck up a conversation with a little girl who was sporting a MNSSHP shirt from last year! Love to get the kid perspective. She was very impressed with it all.

And might I just add....22 DAYS.....22 DAYS............ mickey
