Tusker House Lunch?

Has anyone gone to Tusker House for lunch? We just made reservations for the lunch since it has characters. My husband isn't crazy about it so looking for good reviews! wink

Everyone keeps asking about restaurants we're going to on this trip! I think our ADR is for Monday, so we'll let you know. Anyone else have opinions to prepare me?

I made an ADR for Tusker character breakfast on July 12th. Kinda far away, so you both can let me know! lol

Ha, awesome! Let me know how you like it! I'm excited for it and want to reassure my husband {picky eater} there is food for him!

That is good to know! We always seem to go to the same restaurants every year because he doesn't want to try anything new. This year I'm making him!

We have an adr there in May at 11am so it might be more like a brunch type thing not really sure when they completely switch everything over but we don't mind either way. But I will gladly report back how it goes with pictures of course.

just to prepare you we go there every time for breakfast and it is unbelievable, but we have yet to be seated anywhere near our adr time usually 30 to 45 min late because of character's comming to each table to do pics and stuff, but the food has always been worth the wait

Good to know! Our seating is at 12:10pm.

Thanks for that info. If we get seated later that might work better at keeping the kids full til our 7:40 adr at Sanaa.

We did the character breakfast a Tusker House two years ago. It was fantastic. The entire experience. Characters were in their safari outfits. Here's a few pics.

One very cool thing that we did not plan or count on, but happened by pure chance. We had an early reser ADR. When we arrived at the Animal Kingdom, we realized that our reser ADR (habits die hard!) was before park opening. This meant that we got to walk through the Park with basically no one in it. That was a very cool walk.

Hope you enjoyed the photos,
Dreams

I'm thinking of taking my niece and nephew to the character breakfast at the Tusker House. You all make it sound so GOOD!

Do it! It is so much fun. Lunch is character dining now too.

When I first saw this thread..I thought..I've never been there before. Then once I saw the pictures I realized..yes! Yes I have been there before! However, this was for lunch when they did a CS style offerings. I have no idea if they still do it that way since they changed it up. We loved it. They had a great roast chicken and green beans with mashed potatoes. The inside of the place was awesome. Very open and breezy and not very crowded at all!

I don't ever remember Tusker House doing CS, but they may have when they first opened. The only problem with Tusker House is in January you get a lot of tour groups going there and they can get very obnoxious. The food is great thought, and the characters as well!

I haven't had lunch there, but we've had breakfast. Still one of my favorite character breakfasts. The food was good and we had a lot of fun! It hadn't even crossed my mind to consider it for a lunch this trip. Hmmms... Smile

I haven't been to Tusker House since it was a counter service. LoL... I love the way it looks inside. We accidentally walked through it in February and the buffet smelled really good.

They usually leave the breakfast items plus the ham and roast beef on the buffet 'til 11:30 or 11:45. The lunch food is very, very good. We usually do this lunch at least twice per trip. My favorite is the couscous, pork loin, orzo pasta, and Peri Peri Salmon. Also don't miss the vanilla sauce for the desserts.

The character interaction is above average and the characters have their safari outfits on. It's too cute.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. All the food was really fresh, and they were even putting out fresh breakfast items (bacon, waffles, etc.) into the time that lunch had "officially" started.

The character interaction is great, but the restaurant can get really loud. It's a very open space and the sounds tend to echo quite a bit, so don't expect to be able to have much of a conversation over your meal.

Daisy too. When I was there for breakfast last year, Donald stayed outside the restaurant for the pictures with the photopass photographers. They brought the pictures around if you wanted to buy them.

We are doing lunch this August! Sorry to my boyfriend who is uber picky and can't eat fish near me due to my allergy. He'll have to love the chicken or something!

Thanks much. We must have Goofy. Hubby is a huge Goofy fan. silly

He understands that if Goofy catches a cold or something he's out of luck, but I wanted to be sure Goofy was at least scheduled to participate.
