Twilight Themed Rides

Caitie didn't seem to impressed with the Twilight saga, but at some point someone has to try to capitalize on these with a ride, right? Or are they not timeless enough. Do all the park owners realize that this is a fad and the ride would be dated quickly?

Never seen the movies, never read the book - no desire to see a rip-off of True Blood -- so no, please, no rides.

What a waste of money.

I think they do realize it is a fad. I think there is a reason the movies are coming out so quickly - they have to capitalize while it is hot.

Well, I often wondered about the "fad" thing. It seems they do the rides anyway, even if it does seem like a fad.

I'm wondering the same about Harry Potter. I hope it will become a "classic series," but how do we know? Universal is betting a lot on the hope that it remains in the public consciousness.

Harry Potter isn't a fad - it has been around and popular for over a decade...Twilight is only a few years now and is fading...there is already second generation HP fans of parents reading to their children who weren't around for the release of the next book. HP is like Disney, it is something both parents and children can enjoy together, unlike Twlight, and that is why it is here to stay.

I saw a funny quote today over on facebook:

"Harry
Potter is all about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing
what is right in the face of adversity⦠Twilight is about how important
it is to have a boyfriend." --Andrew Futral

Great quote, Admin! Pretty funny indeed. Also kind of sad -- I wonder if we'll ever have as good a series as Harry Potter come out again.
