Typhoon Lagoon vs. Blizzard Beach

We are thinking of going to one of the water parks on our next family trip. We have a 9 and 6 year old. My son is leaning more toward Typhoon Lagoon because of "Shark Reef" but not totally decided. We've never gone to the water parks. What are the pros and cons of each?

Im not sure if there are pro and cons to either. Ive only been to Typhoon and that was a LONG time ago. I think in general they are the same... just look different. And maybe some of the bigger slides are different as well. But I dont think you could go wrong with either to be honest.

we are going to split them up and see if we can do both in one day.
Everyone seems to say that after 2 hours you've done all the stuff there is to do and the rest is just floating down the lazy river

I don't know if this is fact, but we tend to like Blizzard Beach for the slides more, and Typhoon Lagoon for the grounds more. TL seems shadier. BB is all fake snow, and it can be very bright in the sunshine. Also, since the theming is more alpine, I don't think it seems as shady. It's a really hard pick...but for the first trip, I think I'd suggest TL for the snorkeling, the wave pool with the giant wave every so often, and the tropical feel. Although the BB melting snow thing is pretty cool...and the ski lift to the top for the giant slide and the family slide is also pretty cool...

I'm no help at all Smile

Lizzy B you've been a big help! Thank you. We decided on Typhoon Lagoon.
