The Ultimate Breakfast Treat..

Ok folks...When at WDW we tend to go light at breakfast..My DS will have a cereal & milk..My DW a croissant & tea...For me it's coffee and a chocolate croissant ...Now we did have our last breakfast two year ago at POFQ...A wee walk from Riverside down to Sassagoula Floats to try the Beignets...Very nice indeed...Now I know at the Poly the Tonga Toast is a big favourite but for this year staying at WL I want to try Bananas Fosters..What is it.?...I know it's a waffle, but can anyone describe it for me..I did try Banana toast at Sunshine Seasons on a platter and loved it...So what resorts have the ultimate breakfast treats..?

Well this is what I know about 'what is banana foster':
The classic Bananas Foster is made by sauteing bananas in a mix of rum, butter, brown sugar, sweet spices and banana liqueur. After the bananas are slightly softened and begin to brown, cooks tip the saute pan slightly to set the alcohol on fire, producing that amazing flambe effect. In restaurants, the dish is often prepared at the table.

Now for breakfast am not sure what they change if anything as I have never had it for breakfast. LOL

Normal for breakfast will depend on what is schedule for the day. If we are having an early dinner (like 6pm) I will have a nice breakfast at my resort and a very light lunch...like a dole whip. laugh

Not at a resort but my favorite breakfast meal is the nutella and fruit waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow. They are HUGE! DH and I were able to split one for breakfast.

We normally go simple for breakfast I love the choc croissant. I was so excited to try the tonga toast but once i did it was lost on me. I felt like I was eating half a loaf of deep fried bread coated in cinnamon and sugar. That waffle with fruit and Nutella looks amazing.

The Strawberry Pop Tarts in room 110 at the Beach Club were delightful.

I love the tonga toast at the Polynesian and the DH loves the breakfast buffet at The Wave. I could easily skip breakfast but the DH likes to relax and have a nice meal before we hit the parks.

Most days at WDW, my breakfast is a quick bowl of cereal before I jog to the bus stop, or a granola bar that I eat at the bus stop while waiting for the bus.

But last year we had breakfast at Cape May Cafe once, and OMG it was awesome. And enough food to cover both breakfast and lunch, so we didn't eat again till dinner. Those Mickey waffles are GOOOOOOD.

I've only been to Disney with my family (My mom, dad and little sister) all of which don't eat breakfast. So I would just get a bowl of cereal and go down to wherever the coffee was with my dad.

The only breakfast I'm aiming for when I'm there in September is some waffles. Preferably Mickey waffles, but as I'll be staying at the Pop I'll take a pop waffle instead. Tonga Toast seems great in theory but I cannot handle bananas at all so I think that's out the window. laugh

I'm thinking aside from one day we'll find waffles, I'm probably gonna bring along some cereal and fruit (I drive, so I can haul it with me) to munch on before we head to the parks. I'd rather do a really light breakfast most days and gorge myself on ~regular food.

I'm a simple girl. Love Mickey waffles. The pancakes with raspberries and strawberries they serve at Sassagoula are pretty yummy, too.

Anything goes for breakfast for me personally. A bounty platter is what I've gone for in the past. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuit and either another breakfast carb like a pancake. That keeps me full and long enough to last through lunch. But I think the ultimate breakfast treat that everyone seems to rave has to be Tonga Toast. Other than that, I also heard Boma has a really good breakfast buffet.

When I try to be "good" to start the day I will have a Quest protein bar....but I love, love, love the coffee crumb cake that they had at ASM. Simple I know.....but that along with my hot tea starts the day off right!

I also eat in my villa, but I had some scrambled eggs at AKL's CS, The Mara that were very good, and only 2.49!

Tonga Toast is SO GOOD. Not heavy, the bananas not overpowering and the strawberry sauce to die for. I don't even really like bananas and I love it. I rarely re-eat at places on vacation, but Kona is on my list forever. My favorite thing for breakfast is french toast, eggs and a bottomless mimosa, but I have yet to find that on property.

Bananas Foster is generally a dessert, I thought?

I am kinda fond of my oatmeal or scrambled eggs in the microwave, then out the door! And in search of my afternoon snack of the day......

we usually only have breakfast out one day on our trips and it is always at either the tusker house or crystal palace

My hubby and I have to start the day with a big mug of espresso! So we bring our own coffee maker to our hotel, make our own espresso, put it in our travel mugs, and we head to a park. At HS we usually get a cupcake at Starring rolls(Red velvet for me and Butterfinger for him-and we share) At Epcot, we like to get pastries from Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie or Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.

I sometimes bring Otis Spunkmeyer Strawberry Shortcake muffins(they are wonderful!) with us from home and we take them, along with our espresso, to a park and enjoy the magic around us while we let the caffeine take effect laugh

I usually go for a coffee and chocolate croissant, but I LOVED the French toast from the Grand Floridian Cafe from our most recent trip. Will definitely be heading back there for breakfast in September!

We found the pop tarts lacking in volume for a full day of touring, so we had to supplement with pre-cooked hard boiled eggs. Have you seen these? You can buy a bag of perfectly boiled little protein nuggets. Unfortunately, it requires a car or packing them in your suitcase and letting the TSA radiate them.

My favorite thing I've eaten for breakfast anywhere at Disney is the Strawberry Soup at 1900 Park Fare.

I have to watch carb first thing in the day or I ravage food all day to make my insulin think it's balance. Buuuuuut, the bakery at MK is to die for (or it was ....will have to see now) and at the resort pastry offerings are sometimes sooooo good. So I stuff a cheese stick in there to help and pray for the next meal.
