Universal Ticket Prices

So despite being here for over 2 weeks, we never made it to Universal to check out Harry Potter. I could blame it on being sick, but I honestly doubt we would have gone anyway. Honestly we had a TON of stuff we needed to do that we didn't so there was no way were going to do something that wasn't 100% mandatory. I'm also a bit vexed by the prices. I'm feeling like I'm going to wait until the buzz dies down and see if I can't get a great deal like I did the last time we went. I can't imagine HP mania will last forever.

I can't imagine it would last forever either. We are skipping it this time & heading there next time we go.
The prices blow my mind too...crazy.

So, how bad are the prices?

I haven't gone to Universal since I bought into DVC. I guess that's one way Disney has made me a total convert.

I think people were saying like $82 for 1 day, which is pretty much the same as WDW.

Would people recommend forking out the extra for an express pass for IOA even in low season, or do you reckon it's not worth it?

In low season I'd say you can manage without. Get there before opening and go straight to Potter land before the rush and you should be fine. Almost everyone will be trying to do the same thing but once it's done the rest of the park will be OK.

Peg - I agree with Tony. By the time you get here in Sept, HP will have been opened for a year. It will still be popular no doubt, but in the off season, I think you'd be fine.

Okay great! I'll save my pennies Smile I'm still thinking an IoA ticket would be a nice present for my boyfriend for his birthday since it's a few weeks before we go, and he loves harry potter
