Great backstory to that song, thanks!
My daughter who is an ER nurse at a level 1 trauma center in NW OH received her first dose of the vaccine the day after Christmas. Second dose is scheduled for Jan 23. Her husband, an ER nursing staff supervisor is scheduled for his first dose on New Years Eve!

Whoo hoo! I know that Becks534 has gotten her first dose. My daughter and I pre-registered with our county, which means that when it is our "turn" they will send us a message to come in.
I got my first dose, there was no sugar, I can promise you that. When asked which arm I wanted it in, I asked "what about the liquid version" the nurse promptly told me "Oh honey, it is a shot"
I guess there is no joking with vaccines.
Felt ok, just sore arm the 2nd day then it went away.
Next dose on the 28th.

"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. I want it more than I can tell."
"It seems to me that we have a lot of story yet to tell."
I love this story so much!

Is it similar to the tetanus shot then?

Hoorah for being just a little bit safer!

Not sure haven't had one of those in 25+ years lol. Everyone said it's like a flu shot. Most of my coworkers had really bad headaches. Luckily I skipped that part!
We'll see how round 2 goes on the 28th

I got my first dose last week, go back on Feb 9th for the second dose. Shot is not bad at all.
It makes me so happy to hear you guys are getting your vaccines!

Just wish Scrappy could get one!
My daughter, the ER nurse, received her second dose this morning at 11:00. So far so good!
Right now, my state is only vaccinating people 75+, the next group is ages 65-74, then essential workers. My company is considered essential, but I don't know if I will be eligible since I work remote. It's fine if I can't. I don't want to take a dose away from someone working on-site. At the same time, I'm glad to know I may be able to get it sooner rather than later.
I volunteered for the UK vaccine trial last year and had the injection. The Nurse who administered the jab thought it would be a really good idea to pat me rather hard on the vaccine site afterwards. It wasn't sugar I needed but a stiff drink! The jab didn't hurt but the pat did! She was trying to get the plaster to stick apparently.
Hope everyone gets the jab soon and stays safe.
Do you mind me asking is the vaccine free? Not sure how it goes with you having to pay for medical care in the US. Ours is free.

The vaccine itself is free, however depending on where people have it administered they may be subject to an administrative fee for the "office visit."

Hey Sally-Ann! Good to hear from you. Hope G is doing well. Tell him we said hello!
A couple of weeks ago, the governor changed the phases for the vaccine. I will be eligible starting March 22.
DH and I received our first dose of Moderna last Friday, Feb 26. Our second dose is already scheduled for March 26. Side effect was the same as flu vaccine, tender arm at injection site. Several people have said that second dose has more severe side effects. I'll report back!
Seven weeks after our second dose we will celebrate with our first return to WDW since the beginning of 2020!
Yay! I love hearing that people are getting scheduled for this and life is starting to get back to normal somewhat. The VA called my husband and he was able to schedule his vaccines, so he will be covered by mid-April. Nothing yet for my daughter and I. Right now I'm missing the cut off age by less than six months, so hopefully I will be in the next group.
I have had a head cold the past week which required me to get multiple covid tests. I think I've got the brain swab pretty down pat. All came back negative and I'm out of isolation tomorrow.
My daughter Tori is vaccinated (J&J), Geordon and I both have had our first shots (Moderna) and get our second on April 7th. I'm *so* excited about this it's crazy!
Tori started having some minor reactions about 12 hours after she got the shot, and it lasted 24 hours. Chills, body aches, exhaustion, sore arm. G and I both had a really sore arm for a couple of days, not just in the injection location but the whole arm was painful. All together pretty minor.
Earlier this week, the governor changed the phases again. Instead of being eligible starting Monday, I was eligible starting on today. Had both doses scheduled by 6:30am.
Scrappy gets here second shot the first week of April and we are booked and all planned for Disney for the middle of May and the first week of August with our youngest son and two granddaughters! Woo Hoo!!!!!! Glad to hear more of you are getting your vaccines.
I was able to get my first dose yesterday and I was prepared with my doctors note but they didn't ask for it. I go back in three weeks for my second dose. Then I get to start other vaccinations at my doctor's office.
