Movie fans around the world reeled at the new last week that Marvel's King T'Challa / Black Panther, actor Chadwick Boseman passed away due to colon cancer. Recently Disney Legend, Whoopi Goldberg called on Disney World in a tweet to build Wakanda in honor of late 'Black Panther' actor Chadwick Boseman.
The Hill reported that "Disney has featured a Black Panther character at its California Adventure park, which is soon to debut where the new Avengers Campus was set to open this year - although it has since been delayed as the coronavirus pandemic temporarily closed the park and halted construction. A Wakanda-themed attraction or park would be a historic representation of Black characters and African culture in one of - if not the - most famous amusement parks in the world."
I guess the question here is if that would violate the tricky theme park contract that Disney has with Universal regarding Marvel Characters. Is the Black Panther free and clear for plans to begin blue sky talks?
While I'm not sure that an entire theme park is the way to go, I do feel that Disney has opened up the door with Pandora to easily fit a Wakanda into the Park at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Or perhaps it would be fun to walk through the African gateway at Epcot into Wakanda. Where do you think the best fit would be?
