Walking Distance????/ New policy

Hi

I was looking for a phone number for POFQ to try to pull off a surprise for our friends...another story, when I spotted a "google review of this resort." I hit it out of curiosity and after I laughed at the posting that said this resort is way too big and there is no workout room (too much walking but needs to work out???), I spotted a comment that said (I am not making this up!). "It's an easy brief walk to Epcot from this resort."

I know of one resort that can "back door a walk" but can you safely walk to Epcot from POFQ? Our friends are walkers and I can see them wanting to do this (they are newbies and don't realize how much walking is done in one day but.....)

For the surprise that I mentioned in another thread, we came up with the idea of ordering wine glasses from the Jackson Square store and then order bubbly from the GG delivery and then go from there with a card and some ribbon to enhance. (front desk suggestion) but I had to wait until this morn to see if the store could do this. Her answer was NO. She said a year ago a new policy was enforced for identity protection, so no resort store can take a credit card order over the phone. We hit the resort about 2 and HAVE to get to DS for dinner rez at 4:30. By the time we get back, the store will be closed. I "think" we might try to wrap some in our soft clothes in the check in bag and try to get 4 there on our own.....sigh......so much work for a simple gift.

You can't safely walk from POFQ to EPCOT. You can however walk from Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk to EPCOT along with Hollywood Studios. You may be able to walk to Downtown Disney from POFQ.

Have you thought about trying to set this up with Disney Floral instead? I know other people have gotten wine, etc. put into a gift basket through Disney Floral, though I'd assume that someone with a valid ID would have to be there to accept it (not positive on this, but I would guess Disney wouldn't be willing to just leave alcohol in a room without someone over 21 there to take it). Maybe worth looking into, though.

Yes, I called them, BUT the glasses can only be included in another order and one bottle of bubbly per pair. So it would cost us about $100 to make a toast. So we will rig it up a slightly different way. The bubbly will be ordered from GG delivery, the front desk told me to mail the card and some of my Mickey glitter and they will sprinkle it on the desk with the card. We will bring the glasses with us and drink that night when we finally get back to the resort. congrats

Thanks for the warning about not walking. I was sort of surprised when someone on another site said that it was an easy walk..... gaah

Thanks but no, we aren't carrying the bubbly. We will carry the glasses wrapped in socks and such and order the bubbly from GG.
