Guess where we went today! Here's a hint:
...and another:
Figure it out yet? If not, the final clue:
Joe and I took advantage of the Memorial Day weekend to take a trip to the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco
Melissa W. posted a 2-part series about the Museum last year with a ton of information about the Museum that you can read up on:

So I thought I would post some pictures from our trip to add to what she's discussed and shared. Not a whole lot of commentary to add - just more pics! So here we go!
Walt's Key to the City!
A few of his awards:
It's a pretty interactive set-up, and really nicely done.
Examples of Walt's earliest drawings:
And a whole showcase of early memorabilia:
Of the many cool things, the earliest known drawing of Mickey Mouse!
This was something to see - an entire wall of 348 frames that made up 16 seconds of footage for Steamboat Willie:
This video of Walt explaining each of the 7 dwarfs was priceless - so fun to watch:
One section of the second floor has some amazing views of the SF Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge:
Walt's miniature railroad:
And the mother of all displays - the model of DisneyLand!!!
All I can say is WOW! This is something to see. I asked Joe to build me one.....
And some memorabilia from the Mickey Mouse Club:
There was a really cool video with Walt explaining animatronics and the CoP:
The last room was dedicated to Walt's passing and all the reports and announcements that followed:
It was a tearjerker, but what you walk away with is the incredible impact he had on the world.
This was on my short list of things to do in 2013, and I am sooooo glad we went. We spent about 2 hours there, but you could spend more just reading everything and taking it all in.
The admission is $20 per person, but we got a $5 per-person discount thanks to my D23 card!
So worth it. The whole Walt Disney story, from beginning to end; so much more beyond just the theme parks. I have a whole new perspective and respect. And if ever I was asked who would be the one famous person from the past that you would want to have dinner with...it would be Walt, hand's down!
If you ever get the chance, I'd highly recommend stopping by
