Was the animation in "Alice" as good as I feel?

Seems like many of us have seen this film, so I wanted to talk about the animation a bit. I was really impressed by the CGI in the film. It was one of the only movies I can think of where it never entered my mind at all that the CGI characters weren't actually "there." The interactions seemed completely authentic. I can't remember another film like that. Maybe I just haven't seen enough films lately.

I thought it was great too. I was saying almost the same thing. I can't remember if it was on here or somewhere else.

Agreed. The interaction between animation and real actors was about as seamless as I've ever seen. The only film that comes close (imo) would be Avatar.

Haven't seen Avatar yet Sad We should really get to that!

Tony -- what was better: Avatar or Alice?

Tough choice as they have very different appeals. If I had both to watch again it would probably Avatar that went first, so I guess I have to go with that.

Time may be running out now, but you HAVE to see Avatar in 3D, there are quite a few CGI effects (not gimmicks) that I couldn't imagine working as well in 2D.

I hear you; time IS running out, though! Now that Alice is taking over so many of the 3D theaters, I've got to dig to find an Avatar...

I was going to wait and rent Avatar, but this is a really good point. I think it might be too late here now, with Alice in Wonderland displacing all the 3D screens.

We loved Alice and agree the effects were outstanding.

Did you see it in 3D?

No. We usually don't go gaga for 3D because I don't get the full effect with my eyes (no stereoscopic vision for me).

Really? I was not really looking forward to it and I am not a Johnny Depp fan, but I loved it.
