Considering the extreme cold snap that hit FL. recently has anyone heard if WDW had a lot of frost damage and a lot of plantings to replace or if they were spared much of the "killing" frosts?

I haven't heard any bad news, so maybe no news is good news on this one. Will have to check the local news in FL.

I haven't heard either, but you can bet your bippy that if anything was frost-damaged, it was ripped out under cover of darkness and replaced - magically. So we would probably never know.
Lol, I like the comment about the plants being replaced magically. I'm so excited to go to WDW in April! We are taking my two year old one day, and then my husband and I are going by ourselves the second day while my mom watches my son. I am so excited since it'll be my first time there!!
Take care,
Linda
Just give me a candy machine and a trip to Disney and I think that my life would be complete!

Are you guys going to Universal as well?
MrHub -- great question. I know I've heard stories in the past about the frost causing problems. Also, I saw pics on other sites recently of signs stuck into certain planters in the parks that said something to the effect of we're trying to keep this area beautiful for your enjoyment or some such. Some of the planters had been covered with heavy rubberized material, and some had clearly been hit by frost.
Linda -- Welcome! Great idea to head to the parks with just hubby for a day! Do you know which parks you'll be going to with your little one and your husband?

Lol..what exactly is a bippy ?
Haha - anything you'd like it to be, Dear Bella
I remember being shocked when they were doing the un-birthday-cake-i-fication of the castle in the late nineties, and they took out the trees around the bottom of it. That's when it first hit me: they move entire TREES to maintain the magic. Sometimes I think we have no idea, the detail and trouble that this company goes to. It really is amazing.
Yes we plan on going there without my son. I have been before about ten years ago, but I want my husband to experience it!

That will be fun! It's a very different experience going as just a couple. You'll probably get addicted and find ways to leave the kiddo at home more often..haha!
I can tell you with the last frost there were a lot of that did not make it through. I do a lot of the behind the scenes tours and during the steam train tour I was at the park around 630 and crews were working hard to replace plants and throughout the park and the ones at the main entrance to Main Street.

See? I told ya. Magic
And here is what they put until the Magic is completed.
