We've settled into buying a case of water at Wal-Mart once we get to Orlando. The tap water doesn't taste good to us, and bottled water on property -- at 2.50 a bottle -- is just too expensive.
What do you do? Or, do you have any good ideas?

Hi,
I'd go to Wal-Mart--if I could get there--for a case of bottled water. Florida tap water tastes funny to me, too. I think the reason is that the entire state of Florida is made of limestone, which is very porous.

We go to the grocery store at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd. and usually get some bottled water diet pepsi to keep in the fridge in the room. When you drive to WDW its alot easier to do that. We like to make our our coffee in the room in the morning too, that is if we are not near the Kona Cafe'. That Nescafe just does not do it for me!
We drink bottled water at home too. Of course, from what I've read, bottled water is often tap water put in a bottle.

Really? That's a bummer!
We usually head to the wal-mart and get water when in WDW, too. I've heard a great trick about adding those powdered drink mixes to the tap water -- they have ones that are sized for the 16 oz bottles.

I always wish they had a tap that wasn't in the bathroom. Getting water from the bathroom tap always seems weird to me.

I'm a fan of the powdered drink mixes! I usually just stuff a can of it in my suitcase when I travel just in case. It saved us tons of money in St. Lucia where the water still tasted a bit salty. Add a little vodka for some real fun .
I knew Natalie and her DH would fit in well here! Would love to hear more about St. Lucia, too, Natalie!
Bottled water is the only way to go at Disney. I tried drinking the tap water there and it was horrible. I'm also not a fan of overly chlorinated water, which is what you often get when you drink tap water on the road. I always filter my water through a Brita pitcher at home. Gets rid of the chlorine taste.

Does anyone use a portable filtered water bottle? I've heard good things about these. http://coffeetea.about.com/od/water/tp/waterbottles.htm

Orlando tap water tastes like Splash Mountain.

Haven't tried them, but just saw some filtered water bottles (portable) in Target today. Very interesting idea. I wonder if the taste stays with the water even after filtering...
