Water Sprites (Water Mice)

Just wondering if anybody ever rides the little boats at the resorts on Bay Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon?

I first rode them in the 70's and still get a kick out of zipping around the lake. I don't do it every trip, but its still a treat getting a different view of the world from the little boats.

My wife doesn't understand though, why I want my OWN boat and won't pair up with her. It's worth the extra money for the extra speed you can get!!!

We've found this to be really enjoyable, and I always push to rent boats once a trip if we've got the extra funds.

One little hint for folks is that renting a boat costs the same on every Disney body of water, so why not get the most out of your money and rent the boats on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. You get to see the monorail resorts, Fort Wilderness, and Wilderness Lodge close up, you get to go over the cool water bridge, and you can check out some of the defunct Disney attractions: Discovery Island and River Country.

GREAT photos and thats exactly why I enjoy the boats. The ability to see things from close up that you don't ordinarily get.

Yeah, I can't imagine why you'd ever want to do any "body of water" except for the Seven Seas Lagoon. They even rent them in CSR, which blows my mind.

Be sure the get the Sea Raycer if you want speed and they're only made for one. Even if you put two light people in there, it's still going to go pretty slow.

laugh I once rented a kayak out on the lagoon at CSR--pretty boring, I'd have to say! I don't think I knew then that you could rent boats at resorts that you weren't staying at.

They've actually decreased the hours for the marina at CSR, I believe. Just not enough "traffic."

Boats are absolutely fantastic; and when there is not enough monies to have your own, just rent it!!

BTW, the Discovery Island is really cool, my fav.

I went on those, I loved them! However I haven't been on them since they days of River Country (we would rent them from outside there) - where can you get the little 2 person boats from now? I want to do it again when I go in September!

We did them from WL when they had the deluxe plan that included all water rentals, we did a pontoon boat too from there. My water sprite was not so spritely, it just puttered along as my friends ran circles around the lake. I went back to the dock to get another, but they said it was fine. We had a 1/2 hour if I remember right, I couldn't even make it from WL to discovery island and back in time...that's why we did the pontoon boat so I could go past it, lol. They instead made it all the way past CR and back.
My friends loved their's, but we all agreed had it not been included in our package, they weren't necessary.

Peg - I'm pretty sure you can rent them at any resort that has a Marina. We wanted to do it at CBR this last trip but ran out of time. But like Admin said, def at GF, the Poly, and WL. Not sure about the Contemporary, but I don't know why they wouldn't.

Hey I thought the prices would be a lot more than they are...we may have to look into that next time we go. The Sea Racers are what I would want to do!

Great photos! I obviously did it at the wrong spot! We rented a long way back at CRB. My mom, dad, brother, and I went through their lake while waiting for my grandma to be ready to hit the parks. We had a blast!
