Weather watching

As we are now within our 17 day mark I am starting to pay close attention to the weather in Florida. It appears Isaac is projected to make landfall late Sunday/early Monday of next week. Is anyone else watching Isaac & potentially Joanne in semi-panic mode? In addition to the 9 days that we'll be at WDW, we will be vacationing in Florida almost a month so we may face several tropical storms. I've got my fingers crossed for good weather for all of us. crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers

We will be there in 13 days and honestly, I'm more worried about my flight than the weather when I'm on the ground. The way I look at it is: I'm in Disney, it is my happy place. I refuse to let rain ruin my trip. I will throw a poncho on and jump in puddles laughing and smiling! Now if it was rainy AND cold, that might stink but I will still make do! Smile A little rain only hurt the Wicked Witch and I most certainly will not melt!

I was about to say the same. When it comes to hurricanes... Disney seems to be the one safe place in Florida to be at.

We were in Orlando during Hurricane Wilma back in 2005. We arrived the day before she hit and spent much of the next day waiting for her to leave. The parks were closed, but by evening Wilma was gone and we were at Downtown Disney and DisneyQuest. So I'm not terribly worried about hurricanes. The wind howled and the rain poured, but we were perfectly safe.

I was like this in 2010 when it seemed like there was a new hurricane every few days. It was completely nerve-wracking and I was checking hurricane sites and trackers like it was my job, paranoid that the trip wouldn't happen. But we made it safe (between two hurricanes/tropical storms) and enjoyed our time there.

I think WDW is pretty far inland and usually doesn't get hammered anyway. Plus, the pilots are professionals and fly in and out of crap year-round. They'll get you there and back safely.

You will be fine, and your trip will be magical! Positive thoughts!!!

We went down the day the hurricane hit in 04 and even though most of orlando was trashed when we went in to Disney it was like nothing happened, they have like a bubble around them or something
