What a fantastic trip! And hoorah for checking something else off of your Disney Bucket List! Oh my gosh... CRAZY Carsland! That mass of people would have given me an anxiety attack. You're whole report has made me miss California like crazy, I hope I can go back over the next couple of years. Disneyland really does have my heart.

Well I guess my first clue should have been that this is in Grizzly Peak and the water ride is Grizzly River Run....

Grizzly Peak

Your adventure takes you up the iconic grizzly bear shaped mountain named Grizzly Peak. How did such a natural wonder come to be? According to ancient legend, the peak was once a giant bear named Oo-soo'-ma-te, whom A-ha-le the Coyote transformed into stone to watch over and protect the land.

I wasn't going to point that out. rolling
The ride is a lot of fun (sorta like the Kali River Rapids) but you totally can't do it when it's cold because EVERYONE comes off soaking wet. I didn't know the "legend" awesome share!

Hi Jeff! How was "Pirates of the Caribbean" different at DL than WDW?

Loved the report Jeff! So thorough! I have to say that I am really disappointed that I never made it to DCA now. That looked so fun, especially the Monsters Inc. and Cars parts! If I ever get the chance to go back to DL, I am for sure making time for DCA.

I loved the Nemo ride too when I went! I've never been to WDW, so I can't compare, but I did notice that there were a LOT of CMs when the gates first opened on Main Street. But, it was also over summer vacation, so I think it was probably because the traffic was expected to be so high. I am also super jealous of your HM pictures. When I went, it was being decorated for the Halloween season, so it was closed, as was Star Wars, for renovations. And I also felt like you did with the castle. I had these grand expectations of something just, out-of-this-world-over-the-top, and while I'm glad I finally got to see it, I can't wait to see the castle at WDW.

Hi Poppet - sorry I missed this earlier eek

The most notable things for us were (a) the ride is longer at DL (I Googled it and it's reportedly 14 1/2 minutes at DL and 8 1/2 at WDW); (b) there's a bit more of a buildup to the pirate-y burning city scene (the bayou) at DL, and (c) the drops at the start - there are 2 drops at DL vs. just the 1 at WDW.

If I were a parent and had 2 kids, I would tell everyone I love them both equally.....but see-kritly have a favorite Tongue

Also, in the Monsters, Inc ride at DL, there's a CM manning the Roz part at the end...much like the interactive Monsters Inc show at WDW. We found this out when my daughter's friend said, "I like your glasses" and Roz answered back with a comment about HER glasses! Then they traded quips for a minute before our ride ended. It was really fun!

I wondered about that! Because we stopped right at her as the car in front of us was unloading, and Roz made comments about out shirts!! That's funny - I was wondering how they did that! Thanks for sharing.
