Wet or WET?

So I find I'm in the minority on this one and I'd like to see how our forum comes down. Our philosophy is, once you're wet, you might as well get really wet. So we typically try to bunch up a bunch of rides on Kali River Rapids or Splash Mountain. Other people seem to think we're crazy for doing this. What do you guys think?

Definately the way to go. Get WET once then dry out once, saves feeling a bit damp all day.

Totally. Once your socks are wet, you in for some unpleasantness. I try to go without socks if we're going to do Kali. (You can keep them dry on Splash Mountain)

On the subject of socks... I always take mine off before doing a wet ride, and put them on again once my trainers (sneakers) have dried out. Feels good putting dry socks on what are usually by that time sweaty feet.

That's a great idea. I always put my wallet and phone in a plastic bag, but I never though about doing it with socks. Then again, I'm usually wearing sandals or flip flops on the water rides, but I'll keep the idea in the back of my mind for DH.

I agree that you might as well ride the water rides as many times as you can in a row, but here's another piece of water ride advice that many folks disagree with: I like to go on the water rides at night so that I can just go home and change after getting soaking wet. Other people say to go early so that you have all day to dry off!

I always want to do that, but I feel self-conscious.

There is nothing like dry socks when your feet are sore and tired.

Went to an outdoor concert/festival one time and when I say it rained all day...about 3 inches that day...it poured, and there was nowhere to go to get out of it. (No it WASN'T Woodstock laugh )

Best thing I ever did was leave a pair of socks on the bus...nothing since has felt so good as putting on those warm, dry socks.

The rain was so bad that people with transportation were going to the store, buying boxes of lawn/leaf bags and selling them for $5 EACH and people we're paying it!

i have to agree that once your wet your wet, but as much as I LOVE the water rides, for some reason I am always hesitant to ride them, because I don't want to be damp all day long . . . maybe I will try the idea of going on them last so I can go home and take a hot shower and crawl into a warm bad shortly after . . .

Millie -- What?! $5 a piece? That's when it's time to leave the concert Wink

aglassslipper -- We like to go on them last, too. Then we trudge back to the hotel sopping wet and take turns taking baths!

We always do Kali River rapids just one night on the trip. We do it during an EMH near the end of the trip at the end of the evening. They usually let us just stay on and we're SOAKED (and often shivering) by the time we're done. So I guess we're in the WET camp too.

We had chartered a bus to drive us to the concert - it was 5 hrs away - the driver had dropped us off at the venue and left to go catch some ZZs for the drive home after the show.

It rained so long and hard that day that your skin actually hurt...when I put those warm dry socks on that night, it was the best feeling in the world! That and the sweatshirt I had also left on the bus. Oh, I forgot to mention, it was an outdoor/festival type concert!!

Wow! I can completely relate! That's how I felt after the camping-trip-from-heck -- flooded tent for three nights in a row, and we were biking many miles per day in the rain. Horrible. Getting home and taking a shower was glorious.
