What Gives You the Urge?

When I haven't been to Disney World for a while (like now), I'll see things that always make me really want to go. For whatever reason whenever I see colonial stuff, it makes me think of Liberty Square and makes me really miss Disney World. What things make you guys miss the parks?

Even just the cold we've had in Dallas this year is making me want to travel. Do you have any other, closer, warmer destinations you can visit?

Anywhere in the mediteranean is warm most of the year, but they don't have WDW.

That is a crucial component of a good vacation destination biggrin

I think I should be banned from WDWFG, because that's what always makes ME want to go back to WDW. Just reading about the trips everyone's taking and the plans they're making...

Also, listening to WDW radio stations on the computer. When I hear the Magic Kingdom or Epcot loops, I'm a goner.

(By the way, anyone else getting distinct "bathroom" feelings from the title of this thread? laugh )

Not yet, hopefully one day, especially as it can be done on the train from where I live, total journey time should be around 4-5 hours. It may not solve the weather situation though, Paris is still quite far north so can be pretty cold in the winter months.

I know! I had my mind blown of these shots of the DLP Magic Kingdom all snowy:

You guys are hilarious! Love the vid, Mr Hub!

I think what gives me the "urge" to head back to WDW is when I'm listening to the darn Disney music online. I hear a loop from one of the theme parks or the ride script from Spaceship earth and I just can't help myself -- I go and look at what kinds of deals I can get for a long weekend!

Listening to my WDW soundtrack.
Recent discovery...it is IMPOSSIBLE to stay in a bad mood when you hear "In the tiki-tiki-tiki-tiki-tiki room..." and sing along. Just SAYING "Tiki" makes your mouth have to move in the form of a smile. A co-worker and I recently discovered this and it's an excellent grumpy day strategy.

This is more of what makes me think of Disney and of being there at Disney awesome mickey

When my 8 year old daughter and I make Mickey Waffles/Pancakes for breakfast on Sunday mornings together, while listening to Disney theme park music... I think of Disney....

A Frozen Margarita on a hot muggy Louisiana Day..... I think of Disney...

Certain smells of freshly baked goods and certain ethnic foods.. Makes me think of Disney

Also, For us when Mardi Gras season approaches (very early this year, i.e. now!), we know Disney is usually planned for the week of, so we start getting excited!! This definitely gets my mind on Disney yeah

Whatever new fragrance all of the kids at the gym seem to be into---its' a mix of peppermint, cotton candy, and vanilla and it smells like Mickey's Very Merry Christmastime parade.

For me, I think the urge has to start with new attractions that are open and ready to ride. I must honestly say my desire isn't big at the moment simply because there's a lot of construction going on right now and all those projects won't be completed until 2017-2018 by the looks of it. Plus I have other travel destinations in mind, as well though I do want to visit WDW and Disneyland at least once before I turn 30.
