what if (edition 17).....

What if you had to spend the whole day at DTD and you had to do one of the three things listed to kill time....which would you choose: Cirque Du Soliel, AMC theaters with the new movie and dine in option, or Disney Quest?

This is the easiest question yet. Cirque Du Soliel! We did Disney Quest once and we were very disappointed with it. I do think that the movie with dine in option sounds interesting but I am afraid that ordering and eating would really distract from the movie.

I totally agree with scrappy Cirque is one of the best values for your entertainment dollar. Granted it is not the cheapest place to go but it gives you a GREAT show, and there is something going on non-stop from before the curtain raises until thr final curtain drop.

I'd be torn between Cirque and the Dine-In Theater! I know -- you think I'm crazy -- but I haven't seen Cirque yet, so I don't know what I'm missing. mickey

this is a very hard question to answer....can I do all 3?
I've seen Cirque before...they came to my town so I got my wife and I a ticket. Its worth every penny to go see.
Scrappy, why did you think Disney Quest was disappointing ? I think we are going there in sept...should we skip it?

I was expecting so much more from Disney Quest. To me there seemed to be very little "Disney" in it. It really is just a large arcade for the most part. I do not remember exactly what we paid to go but I do know that even though we had two teenage boys with us, we only spent a couple of hours there. I rarely EVER complain about the price of something in Disney but this is one thing that was just not worth the cost. However, do not cancel it based on my opinion of it. Maybe others will come on and say they loved it. I am now very interested to see how everyone else feels about it.

Well we dont have kids and I am not really a "gamer" so I wasnt really sure about the place. I'm interested in the coaster simulator.

I just looked it up real quick and it looks like it will cost you around $40 per person to play. It does look like they have changed things a bit since we were last there. I still do not think I would pay $40 to do it again though. The boys did do the coaster simulator but I do not remember much about that at all.

Carjust if it's a coaster simulator you want, you can get that at Epcot in Innovations at the robotic "Sum of all thrils" display and it is free. We tried it (twice) on our last trip and it is loads of fun. You preplan your ride on a computer card and you can make it as wild or as mild as you want to. Usually the line is not bad at all, but I have seen up to a half hour wait. You can design your ride as a coaster, a bobsled ride and a couple of other options.

Gotta go with Cirque. Although how long is the show? You can spend quite a bit of time in DisneyQuest.

I wouldn't go that far. Just saying you can probably spend more time there than at Cirque. I'm actually pretty unfamiliar with both. (Don't tell anyone)

Im going with Disney Quest. All of the old school video games, and all of the new virtual reality games. Just too much fun, but I know its not everyones cup of tea. Last I remember they had a huge human pinball type of game... cant remember. Been ages since ive been.

I would go for Cirque. We have a dine-in theater here and it's not all that exciting. Cirque is definitely exciting!

We just went to Cirque this weekend because they were in town..oh my goodness! It was awesome! I can't imagine what the Disney show would be like..I bet it's great!

So my vote goes for that..although the dine in theater is intriguing as well.

Sign me up for Cirque!

We loved DisneyQuest the first time we went (I think it was our 2001 trip) but were a bit disappointed the second time a few years later. Could have been timing - runover with lots of rude kids and smelled.

And I am not sold on the theatre dine-in thing yet eek

After perusing the menu at the dine-in theatre, I would choose Cirque de Soleil instead. I've seen Cirque before but it was so good I'd be glad to see it again! I thought the dine-in theatre would be awesome if they were showing a good Disney film, but as I don't like anything on the menu I'll stick with Cirque.

Here's the menu for those who are interested.

Thanks for providing the menu, JP! You know, I'm going with the movie. I don't get to see nearly enough movies at the theatre, and this looks like a lot of fun to me. I've see Cirque, and I just don't care that much about DisneyQuest, although I wouldn't mind going sometime.

Thanks for that link! I had not seen it before.

Is it just me or does that food look a little..um..unappetizing?

Have you seen any of the other Cirque shows Robert? Or just this one in Orlando?

That's my question too..for Robert & others....do you find the Disney Cirque to be better, worse or the same than other Cirque shows? We saw a traveling show & were amazed..I can't imagine what stationary shows would be like.
