What's the #1 idea you'd pitch to Disney?

People on this board have some great ideas, and I was wondering what you'd pitch to Disney if you had the opportunity--hotels, restaurants, new parks, new rides, new movies--anything!!

(Speaking of, Disney execs who are listening, you should have a contest for people to send in their #1 Disney ideas--the winner gets to work with an imagineer to go through the process of potentially designing the idea.)

Hrm...it's hard to think of my #1. I'd probably pitch a few more "thrilling" rides.

Umm.. Heres a list.

#1 Epcot Center Resort

#2 The Disney Mechanic's Tour - A tour done after closing in the magic kingdom that goes threw the mechanics of the attractions. Under the Haunted Mansion, Walking a drained Splash Mountain, and a lights on tour of Space Mountain. (With a lights on Ride)

#3 Dementis Dark Ride

That's a really awesome idea. Although I wonder if it would be difficult to insure. Have you seen any of those?

I really do think the buses are a good candidate for improvement. They don't seem all that Disney to me.

Definitely my sky-pod idea.

Or possibly some sort of water resort. People choose their resorts based on the pools so often; it'd be cool to have a water park resort.

That's an interesting idea--what would it be like? Indoor water parks?

I think it would all be outdoors, but the resort buildings would be set amidst a giant waterpark--like building a "hut-themed" resort in the middle of Typhoon Lagoon or an "igloo-themed" resort in the middle of Blizzard Beach.

Now that could be very interesting. Everyone stays in their own igloo, or there's one big giant igloo?

I'm sticking with my 'adults-only' days/nights.

One thing I did think of while we were there...why are there no bike trails around WDW? Granted, the place is huge! But, there are some of us that ride bikes and getting from one place to the other would be no big deal. Seems that with every thing 'going green' these days, Disney would be all over it.

So my suggestion for Disney would be to build bike trails!

I really like that idea. And put rental bikes at ALL the resorts, not just a few of them. I'd also like to see some sidewalks -- there ARE some distances that are walkable between resorts and parks, but there are no sidewalks.

Everytime I watch Journey to the Centre of the Earth (the Brendan Fraser version) I think what an amazing ride it would make. Begining the journey in the queueing area walking though the caves, loading into an elevator to be dropped into the bowels of the earth (haunted mansion style) then a gentle boat ride through the underground world and the boat becoming a rollercoaster for the dinosaur chase and the finale, rising back up to the surface on a column of water and down the side of the mountain.

I can almost picture the entire ride in my head. It gets longer and more intricate everytime I see the movie and there are more scenes I'd want to include. Disney are (IMO) the only ones who could provide enough attention to detail to make this really work.

But which park to put it in. It would be movie based which suggests DHS, but could easily fit in MK or Epcot too.

(wondering now how many here will be able to watch the movie without imagining a ride and picking thier favourite scenes to recreate.)

Tony, that would be incredible! I think it'd definitely go in DHS -- they really need another dark, movie-based ride. Right now, all they've really got is Star Tours -- the other two BIG dark rides are music and TV based.

Haven't seen that movie in a while. I'll definitely have to go watch and add my scenes to the ride!

Interesting thread.

I've got lots of ideas but not sure how feasible any of them would be.

I would love for them to make a DVC at the Poly and maybe make some huts out over the water like you see in those pictures of Tahiti and Fiji in the fancy travel magazines with the lights shining in the water at night.

How about a helicopter ride over the parks.

I'd like to see them bring back a version of the Disney institute and maybe offer cooking classes with some of the chefs from our favorite restaurants and you get a free video of the class.

These are all good ideas. I love the idea of the DVC huts out on stilts in the water. Sadly it would make more sense over in Bay Lake than close to the Poly.
