Hello hello!
As I'm sure many of you have noticed, things have been a bit slow with the site the past couple of weeks. While WDWFG has a a great team of people that work together to get things done, but as far as the newsletter, feature articles, news scheduling, forum over-site goes, that all falls on my shoulders.
On April 6th, I was coming out of the grocery store, and missed the step down off the curb. I landed very badly, and broke my ankle in three different places. Told that it was far too swollen to operate on (I'm getting lots of fun pins and plates put into it) I was put on bedrest for a week, then told it was still swollen and given another week of bedrest. I was able to keep up somewhat while on bedrest, but the medications slowed me down.
Finally on the 21st I was scheduled to have surgery this week, but by the afternoon of the 22nd it was obvious that I had developed a virulent case of pneumonia in 4/5 of my lung lobes. This won me my second ambulance ride to the ER, where I was admitted, and spent a lovely (?) weekend.
I am extremely pleased with the way the WDWFG team all pulled together to help cover my unexpected absence. We may have come to a bit of a crawl, but the site is still moving forward - just like Uncle Walt would want us to. Traci has been pulling double time with news and some feature articles, Melissa has picked up feature articles, and I'm always grateful for the way Mr. Hub and Vettelover help to watch over the forums and keep things moderated.
I am happy to say - I am now home! I'm going to try and get a ton of things done over the next few days. Please be aware though that I will be heading in to finally have surgery on my ankle this Thursday, so you may notice some continued hiccups for the next week or two. We'll be back up to full speed shortly - until then I thank you for your continued support for Walt Disney World for Grown-ups.
