We'd be in the middle of a ride, sometimes going up or down a hill, and the ride would stop for a few minutes. So you'd just be hanging there or bracing yourself in the seat trying to be comfortable while the "The ride will begin again shortly" announcement plays over and over and over. When asking the cast members what happened upon getting off the ride, I heard a few times that a child freaked out upon entering the dark (Haunted Mansion and Spaceship earth), so they had to stop the ride and remove the guest. Poor kids.
I think sometimes they also might be loading or unloading someone who can't move quite as quickly as the conveyor belt does, or they might be transferring from and ECV or a wheelchair to the ride.
CDub - wouldn't that be wonderful? Like an 'adult swim'
Seriously, they've stopped rides for that? I've heard kids screaming on rides and they didn't stop to get them off!
I freaked out on some rides when I was a kid -- my parents would NEVER have me taken off!!
I'm sorry, but the babying culture in this country (even towards, yes, babies) really gets to me sometimes!

I've got to vote for the people who are playing with their smartphones on dark rides. OK, I get that Spaceship Earth can get boring, but your phone doesn't really fit into most of the scenes...

but.. isnt spaceship earth all about communication?? lol
Anything that generates light on dark rides frustrates me. Although I've been guilty of taking a quick peak when I'm expecting an important message, I have to confess.
Uh oh...I've TOTALLY tweeted from Spaceship Earth...

I always take pictures of my picture and put them on facebook while I'm still on the ride lol
So I'm not the only person with SE pics on my phone. My daughter and I rocked the hovercraft. Excellent.
I kept trying to think of a pet peeve for me, and the only one I could think of was the weather, and in all honesty.. it doesnt play into many of the waiting lines. I just remember last year waiting in line for Splash Mountain. It started raining, and it was like 60 degrees out, so not to hot... not too cold, but the rain sure made it cold, and we were in line for Splash Mountain... yeah... real smart... lol

The Splash Mountain line area also has a portal to an alternate dimension of coldness. It's really nice on hot days, but less enjoyable when you're all wet.

Yeah... it goes back into some shade and such, and if its cold... it does just get cold back there.

Oh yeah, cold! I've noticed that sometimes the rides or theatres have their air-conditioning set at too cold a temperature. I notice this more on really hot days, since the temperature difference is greater. It's not my #1 pet peeve, but I find a show less enjoyable when my teeth are chattering and I have goosebumps.

Sometimes I wish I could save it up for the heat when I get back outside and it would all even out to a comfortable temperature.

I was reading through waiting to get to my husband's reply cause I knew all I would have to do was agree with him....and low and behold I get to his post and it wasn't anything that I was expecting it to be. One of my biggest pet peeves (and I know it's one of his to) is similar to the line ditching. I hate it when someone who is handicapped get's to ditch the line and bring on all 500 of their family members. I don't mind that they get to go first because of their condition but they shouldn't be allowed to bring that many people with them that it takes up every seat on the ride. Oh and what's even worse....people who "pretend to be handicapped" just so they can ditch the line. We've seen people get up out of wheel chairs and scooters and just walk onto the ride just fine. Another thing that bothers me is people who are rude with their strollers. We have a two year old so we use a stoller there but I think we are very respectful of the people around us. There are some people who don't pay any attention to you, run you over, walk in front of you etc. Also the people who don't control their children and just let them run around crazy.

This happened alot the last time we were there as well...Especially on Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth. It was really pretty scary being on that part in spaceship earth with all the white lights where you are pretty much laying backwards and get stopped there with a two year old on your lap who loves to squirm around with no seatbelt.

I actually forgot all of those. I think the stroller one bugs me the most though.

I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.

I've been run over by strollers countless times. It hurts, some people shouldn't be allowed out in public with them.
I told Jess one of the many times that happened that you should be required to have s Stroller Driving Liscense

Oh. . .that would be bad! I remember being stuck on a hill and I couldn't imagine trying to hold a young child in place during that! Kudos to you!

It might just be my imagination running wild but every time I ride a ride like that I always wonder how no one has ever fallen out of one. you would think all they would have to do would be stand up when it's going down that steep hill.

I actually love the cold air on hot days. For me, the colder the better. I know some people don't like it, so I'm ok with a compromise on it, but being able to get into the cool air after the ridiculously hot sun is one of my favorite parts of the parks!
Zipadeedoodah -- yeah, man
I think mine would be the flash photography.. or anything that a person does that detracts from the experience for other people... talking, singing, BEING ON THE PHONE grrr... etc. I always try to be considerate and think "hey these other people paid good money to see this attraction, so I'm going to try to enjoy it while allowing them to enjoy it too".. why dont they think that for me too? (lol they dont need to know I Have a silver pass!)And yes, at Disneyland, the flash picture thing has unfortunately gotten out of control... they used to really be good about stopping it.. they'd even make polite announcements after a flash went off.. but not anymore. and if you say something to a CM, there's really nothing they can do about it because by the time you see a CM on a dark ride, you're at the end
I usually just address the person directly now lol.. sometimes I do it in the passive aggressive manner like "gee, I sure would enjoy this pirate ride if the paparazzi wasnt on it with me" you know.. loud enough for them to hear lol...etcetc
I dont really get bothered by the morons in line.. we just make fun of them! and if a kid is misbehaving or being a brat, we make scary faces at them while the adults arent looking! good times! haha
This is my number 1.. I had a guy on PotC in Disneyland turn to take a pic of something we passed and have the flash go off right in my face. I was seeing spots almost the whole rest of the ride, my husband was not happy.. We tell people all the time that they are not supposed to take pictures..

The rides are also stopped so a handicap person can transfer from wheelchair to the ride. This can take a few minutes sometimes. Or so they can wheel the chair onto the rides and lock them down.
Wishin' I was at WDW!
My #1 Pet Peeve is the air temp on the buses. We were there right after Christmas this year (yes we beat the blizzard out on the 26th!) and it was very cold and the buses still had the air blasting!
Me? Yes, I've been told rational discourse with me is not possible.
