What's your favorite type of pizza?

Do you like NY style pizza, Chicago, thin crust, thick crust, doughy crust, crunchy crust, what kind of toppings, what kind of sauce?

I enjoy pizza in general and have made my own many times (though I usually don't make the dough because that takes a while). Generally my favorite is a NY (or East Coast) style pizza. For those unfamiliar that would be the fairly thin variety that some people like to fold to eat. It should have dough made from scratch, real cheese, and good quality toppings. I prefer a cheese like asiago or romano in addition to mozzarella because it really adds to the flavor, texture, and it browns nicely. I like it cooked so the cheese is just golden, the crust is slightly chewy (crisp on the outside, soft on the inside), and the pepperoni (my stand-by topping choice) is starting to crisp. Other favorites are Greek pizza (thin crust, olive oil, fresh tomato, basil, fresh garlic, and feta cheese - one that I love to make), Hawaiian (traditional pizza with ham & pineapple), and I've had a few odd topping combinations (only one that comes to mind is taco pizza) that really worked well.

Most types of pizza are good for me. I'll concur with the pepperoni as topping of choice although almost anything meaty is good.

Greek style pizza is good when it's not over cooked and gone hard. In just over a week, we'll be in Greece and the temptation to have a freshly made pizza, cooked in a tradtional oven will probably be too much to resist.

I too like a lot of different kinds of pizza. I do like the thin crust the best. I like it done so it crunches when you bite into it. If I want a red pie I really prefer it with just fresh cheeses on it. One of our local pizzerias does make a taco pizza. It is really good athough it is huge and one slice fills you. If I want a white pie, there are several I really like. One has fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic and cheeses. The other one has grilled chicken, roasted pepers and cheeses on it.
I do not like any of the chain pizza places.

NY style, thin crust. Traditional, with light sauce, cheese and pepperoni or sausage are my favorites.

I will try different toppings but I don't expect to be WOWed. That said, if I see Garlic Knots when I walk into a pizzaria, that is generally a good sign!

Great, now I'm hungry.

I like the NY style myself, though being from NJ I like to think it's our style. The pizza place behind my house (literally, a 2 minute walk) used to make the BEST pizza I'd ever had. Friends would come visit and couldn't believe they'd called other things pizza before. The owner who kept that quality up left though, and the pizza's still good but not what it used to be. It was a thinnish crust, gooey cheesy with lots of sauce. Oh, and pepperoni is a must!

That said, that same pizza place now makes a KILLER buffalo chicken pizza.

Definitely NY style. And the pepperoni has to be crispy and crunchy. No idea why that's a requirement, but it is.

My favorite pizza is the Margherita, which is of relatively thin crust, and consists of few ingredients, namely: dough, tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and mozzarella cheese.

This is the traditional Neopolitan pizza, and Naples is where pizza was invented.

I also like Speck on pizza, which is a dried, cured prosciutto, and is common in northern Italy.

I actually like all kinds of pizza as long as they're done well. I have become something of a NY style snob after spending so much time there. I haven't had good Chicago style in a long time and I never get to go to Chicago to try it there.

Generally I also like just about any toppings. I usually go for either a "super meaty" or "throw everything on there." I even like ingredients I don't like normally when they're on a supreme pizza. Not sure why.

Chalk my vote up for the NY style pizza with pepperoni and sausage. We have a pizza place here in my home town called Bob's pizza and they have walked away with the BEST Pizza voting for many years. I have been a patron for over 50 yrs. and when I walk in I just sit down at any table and I do not even order, they know exactly what the wife and I want and they bring it over to my table. In fact I just talked myself into a trip to Bob's this evening. yay

I like cheese.

Can't you tell from my sense of humor and my apparent eating habits I'm a five year old in a 28 year old's body?

I guess I like regular hand-tossed..no deep dish..and not extra thin..just nice and chewy with lots of cheese!

Sometimes I'll branch out and get feta cheese..or if I am feeling really crazy banana peppers.

I actually prefer the deep dish pizza. As for toppings, I am a huge fan of the classic pepperoni or Hawaiian

Also, I think extra cheese should be standard. You should have to ask for NO extra cheese.

Just on my pizza- though I mostly only eat chicken. I like pepperoni but not on my pizza!

This should be the law of pizza! But so many places are cheese stingy. That's the best part of the pizza!

I make up for it and put just about all the meats on my pizza! laugh

Honestly I like some vegetarian pizzas too. I'm willing to try just about any kind of pizza as long as it's well prepared.

Hi,

I like Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, with pepperoni and sausage.
