When to Buy Tickets?

Since we are going twice next year yay I am planning on buying APs for me, CJ and the kids. When do I do this? Right before we go or can I buy ahead of time for a certain date? Where is the best (cheapest) place to purchase them or is the rate the same no matter where I get them?

I don't think you can get them from anywhere except from Disney, so I think the price will always be the same. We tend to just get ours on the day we show up so that we get the most use out of it. They've added a feature where if you renew you get 6 months extra or something, but that may be temporary. I'm not sure if you can order them for a future date. That would be a nice feature.

Okay - get them where the day we show up?

You can get them at any of the Guest Services areas at the parks. I don't think you can get them at hotels or stores.

Okay - now this may sound silly, but aren't the guest service booths IN the parks?

Nope. They're right outside. At MK they're just to the right once you get through security, but before the ticket turnstiles. They're they same places you'd buy tickets if you didn't have one.

*smacks hand on forehead* laugh

OHHHHHH I seeee...my gosh sometimes I wonder about myself!

I am just so used to having everything on my key card. So, for example, the day we arrive we are probably going to head to Epcot for dinner. When we get to Epcot, we go to the 'ticket booth' and there we can purchase the 5 APs, which will be good from that date up until a year.

For my grandma, MIL and friend, who just need hopper tickets for the days they will be there, I can get those ahead of time, am I correct?

You can buy the park hopper tickets ahead of time, yes.

Also, just FYI, you CAN purchase an annual pass online before your trip, but what you'll receive is a voucher for the pass. You'd have to redeem the voucher at the guest services booth, so you're not really saving yourself any time.

Good idea to grab the park hopper tix online ahead of time, and head to the guest services booth at the first park you visit to buy the APs. Smile

Okay, so buy hopper tickets online ahead of time - those will be mailed to me and they are 'activated' on the date of first use, correct?

I really appreciate your help!

I found Kissimmee Guest Services to be the cheapest Disney tickets available. Mind you, that was for what I was buying, so it may behoove you to look around. For me, buying two ten day MYW tickets with all the options was markedly cheaper there than anywhere else. They also offer an allears.net discount.

Any time. Like I said, feel free to do some checking, but as of a few months ago they were the cheapest; and I looked EVERYWHERE. I also got tons of free stuff that would have been a lot cooler if we had kids (Mickey ears, keychains, all sorts of toys and other goodies).

Ooh -- the little ones would probably love that stuff, UL. And maybe not bug you for souvenirs if you give them one freebie each day... mickey
