Where do you sit on the rides?

We always wait for the back row on RnRC, BTMRR, and EE, but we try to get in front for ToT. confused laugh

In your opinions, where are the best places to ride (or does it even matter?)?

I think that there are only a handful on which it matters.

On Splash Mountain, obviously, you may be more likely to get wet in the front on the big drop, but can get wet anywhere on other parts of the ride.

For Soarin', front row is much more desirable to be able to view the screen without seeing the flip-flops, sneakers, or bare feet of the people in the row in front of you.

Man I'm embarrassed to say this is practically a science with me. I have decided the optimal seat on everything I ride for the most part so here's a list of a few that everyone mentioned:

EE - Back Row. You get a bit more on the final drop, although I recommend a little closer so you can see the drop better too.

BTMRR - Gotta be the back. That ride is 10 times better in the back.

RnRC - The front is always nice. You _have_ to get an odd numbered car though if you're tall. Otherwise you can't slouch because there's not as much leg room and the shoulder restraints bite.

Splash Mountain - I prefer the front, largely because you can 'see the drop coming' at the end and get more of a sense of anticipation.

Soarin' - Gotta be the front for the reasons Imagineer said.

ToT - I really like the front because it makes me feel more alone on the ride so it's a bit more spooky. I have found that I feel the vertigo on the drop a bit more in the back though so I'm not that picky on this one.

Space Mountain - _HAS_ to be the front.

I have some more but I'm feeling a bit like a fanatic now, so I think I'll let someone else mention I ride before I say any more. biggrin

That's a great point. Forgot about that one.

I thought i was the only one who made sure to get an odd-numbered car on RnRC. Anyone else do that?

This is probably a little crazy, but I always like to switch up where I ride on Spaceship Earth. I tend to look to the side I'm sitting on, and there's so much on both sides that I miss what's on the other side!

Here's the real question--how do you decide where to sit on Kali River Rapids!!!???

You should always sit across from me because my big old gut is going to drag the boat down on my side and lead to more splash. Unless you want to get wet, in which case join me on my side!

I never ask for particular seating because I don't want to be a pain, but I have my favorites!

BTMRR- The back is best! I hate the front, because once you get over the lifts, you feel the drag of the back trying to catch up, you don't experience that in the back.

Soarin'- Totally with Imagineer, front row center! Can't see the bottom or the sides of the screen or the flip flops!

Splash- Front is always best for pictures. We thought about buying our picture every time we rode, but you just couldn't see us well enough to justify it because we weren't in the front.

Everything I've said has been said by someone else, but if we agree, these must be the best! Smile

I HATE seeing those bare feet over my head on Soarin'. I pretty much won't ride unless I'm in the front!

Ride Splash late at night so that you get your own log--then buy the pic! silly

We did that on Splash last time. We had our own log, sat up front, and even posed for the pic and we STILL didn't buy it!

I got over that quickly. I generally don't like to be a pain either, but I figure if I'm dropping the dough to go to WDW and waiting in lines, I want to maximize my returns. Of course I'm also a bit of a fanatic on ride location so it might be a bigger deal to me than everyone else. BTMRR is probably the most pronounced, where I don't even really think it's worth riding if you're not in the back.

Could've been cause we were soaking wet, not from the ride, but from the rain! I think our self portraits actually turned out better than the ride photo!

It will always be a good memory though, it isn't often that the CM's ask if you want to ride again without getting off!

Yea I have that whatever side I sit on is going down problem.

Last time I road POtC every row in the boat had a big guy on the right and his small wife on the left. After we left dock the boat leaned way over to the right. we thought that was ok till we went about 25 feet and then the boat hit something on the bottom very hard. another 25 feet and it happened again. Now we are thinking that when we go down the hill If we hit like that at the bottom we'll all go flying out! So 2 of the rows got up and switched around to even it out. The drop was still a little scary but we were fine after that.

Marzyar...what a funny story!

Imagineer...I love the idea of riding it at night...never thought about that.

Question I have is...can you choose where you want to sit? I have always been the kind of people that sits where they put me...wherever it is...so be it.

If it's not too busy, we'll sometimes request to sit in certain sections (e.g. on Soarin' and Splash Mtn). Just gives us a better ride experience.

You can almost always request. You may have to wait a little longer, but we've never had anyone say no.
