Well it has been a year, you know.....I said I was going to quit moving when I hit double digits....but this will be #12 with the company. I decided to map it out.....this is what our moving adventures look like over the past 15-20 years. Ha!

YES!!! That's hilarious, JoAnn. I absolutely have to base everything based on where we were living at any given time.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! I'm with Ollie - cupcakes all around!!

In the spirit of the boards, you can be proud that in the grocery store on Saturday, I spied a display of cabbage that was clearly a hidden Mickey and called Joe over to show. I still got it..... rolling

Well first of all I would like to say Thanks to all of you for your kind words and thank you's for our work as moderators. Secondly I would like to say what a wonderful day it was for me on the site because in three different threads I saw posts from Mase / JeffC / Mrferret /ZapperZ all of whom had not posted recently.

Well I am glad to hear from some of the old crew as well, very sad to hear about king and ferrit though, kings posts were always good reading and quite funny.

One of the reasons I was drawn to this site IS the general kindness of all who post here. I also love the multicultural diversity that allows us to hear about Disney love from around the world. Losing an element of that is sad..... yuck

I too feel the need to check in almost daily because there is true information here that I can bank on! That is invaluable. yay

Well... some little bird came to me and asked what was up so figured it was time... lol

Jeff! Glad to hear from ya man. Looks like we both have been MIA... lol

But man... took me forever to catch up in this post. Can't believe what all happened while we were gone. That is just unacceptable. I know some people can and will rub off on people the wrong way but there is no need to bully. But I dont have a right to say much since I wasn't here. Just a shame it happened.

And again... thanks all for the welcome. For the newbies I dont know... I'm an open book. Just click on one of my links in my signature to know more about me. I like doing video updates for my reports. More fun than typing. Lol.

And can't remember who asked about me putting up the trip report for November but ill get right on it. Got a lot to talk about it.

And btw... dont be afraid to hit me up on Facebook. I'm active on it since its tied to my phone. Should have a link on my signature as well.

Mase I am so glad you are back. You and Jess were missed. So happy for Jess that she found a new position. I am getting tired of hospital work myself.

Seriously look into some of the insurance places. They highly value nurses. Its insane how much they want their expertise. I mean so much more that they get payed so much more for a desk job than to bust your hump day in and day out. I kept telling Jess they couldn't pay me enough to be a nurse. I wouldn't want that responsibility. I mean you would have lil 4-6 patients to look after, and they are in your hands. Give the wrong dosage or wrong meds, and yeah... nursing and teaching are just so undervalued in this society where if you can handle a basketball or get into a movie.... your set for life.

So yeah... I'm so happy for Jess, and I hate saying it... if your a nurse... think about it. What Jess does is she works for Humana now, and she calls up people who have recently been hospitalized, and see's if they need anymore help from Humana. She does some other stuff... but seriously. The jump in the pay she got to sit at a desk and make calls BECAUSE she has a nursing degree and has done it for 10 years was unreal. It was something this family needed since my arthritis has gotten bad.

Ok... rant over... ha ha ha. This is just something I truly believe in. Hated seeing my wife work her tail off, and have to work extra on holidays. Now she is home around 6pm every night. Home for the weekends. Has all the major holidays off. And in 6 months she will have the opportunity if she chooses to work from home.

The one downfall.... she has to put in her vacation 3 months before it happens. Meaning... were heading in November... and she has to put it in here soon and there could be a chance she might not get it. Where as at the hospital she could put in the request a year before or something like that. But now since we have to book 11 months in advance... we have to now take the gamble. But hopefully all will be fine. But more on that when I start my trip report which will be soon.

AMEN! It is so, so sad! I started out in nursing and quickly realized it was not for me. It takes very special people to be a nurse and I commend them all. Teaching is becoming a lot like how you described nursing. Call a parent because their kid is acting up and all of a sudden, the student makes up stories and the parent wants you fired. It's insane. Eventually, this country will have a shortage in nursing and teaching.

Okay, my rant is over now! Smile

Enjoyed reading these stories from page one...Ah memories...I've met quite a few American cousins since joining, and I recognised one young lady from her avatar, walking in Epcot last year with her hubby..What were the chances of that..Another Disney cousin I missed by a few days, but we keep in contact via Facebook and last year she had a awesome birthday present sent to our room for our son..We left a wee Scottish present at her resort which she got..We are like one big family, some of us nearby, others many miles apart, but we have one thing in common...Our love for Disney..A unique group of people who understand what drives us to stay inside the bubble...Lets hope the magic lives in our hearts forever..

I find it ridiculous that people would come into any forum, let alone one with the name "for Grown ups" right in the title, and harass other people. Absolutely disgusting and childish behavior. I happened to stumble upon the other site you are referring to, just a few months ago. There were several people that were downright vicious to King Fergus. They wrote some really awful things. It takes a lot to offend me and I was offended by what they wrote! It was appalling. I never returned to that forum and it makes me enjoy how kind and civilized everyone is on this forum even more awesome

I, too, was also part of the other site that shall not be named. I didn't see entirely what people said to King Fergus or what King Fergus posted that ruffled a few feathers but long story short, it was brutal. By the looks of it, those same people chose to antagonize Fergus via private message, thereby making him leave this place. Nevertheless, I am extremely disappointed and hurt that grown adults would resort to bullying, which should have no place whatsoever. Not in the real world and not in the digital world either. I could go on and on about proper forum etiquette and that stuff but I think we all know what is proper to post and what is taboo to post around here and it is the moderators' mandate and obligation to notify and take the appropriate course of action if someone does post anything that is taboo.

Anyway, since then, I have exiled myself to posting in only the games and chit chat forum there because I don't feel valued or welcomed there in terms of talking Disney World related topics. (And the WDW topics on that forum all end up with the same result anyway so no variety in a forum is no fun either.) Maybe this is just me, but from my forum user experiences and this goes beyond just the Disney World forums I've been a part of, my feeling is that the bigger the forum and number of users there, the bigger the egos are. I think here, we don't have a "likes" or "points" or "stars" to distinguish ourselves and that probably works better. On bigger sites, they don't give a hoot who stays and who goes while here, there's definitely a tighter bond between users and I mean, who else would be willing to start a thread on the members they miss?

Like everyone else, I most certainly miss King Fergus and MrFerret. Speaking of which, I haven't seen starwarsgirl95, figgy and PhillNyc in a while. If they read it, I hope all is well and if it isn't, we're all here to send you love, hugs and pixie dust if you need it and that goes for anyone else I missed.

THNX and I'm back! Watch out world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And best of all the planning has begun for our next trip. BTW Starwarsgirl is back on the other sight which whose name must not be spoken.

I've seen starwarsgurl on the other site, as well, but as I said earlier, I've exiled myself to the games and sports threads. I'll chime in the General Discussion once in a while but it's the same old, same old over there and well, it gets boring and not worth my time. Anyway, I'm glad you've came back. And for those who didn't figure this out already, the Watchmaker was the user formerly known as King Fergus. Any user of WDW for Grownups knows very well that these forums are our laughing place so let's keep it that way! mickey
