Who would you rather dine with?

Our new column is up today - "Jolly Holiday" - and it's all about food!

Caitie and I each picked the restaurants we'd most want to go to if we could plan our ideal trip.

What would you add? What can you do without?

Which of us, based solely on our dining choices, would you rather eat with?

Forget about the fact that I can eat like Beast pre-"Something There" and Caitie often rolls meatballs towards me with her nose... biggrin

There are times that I wonder why I married him.. he is very silly! muchlove

And I don't like the main question - i don't want to make people pick a side! That is mean. With how much everyone seems to love Boma, I have a feeling I would be eating alone!

Well clearly we're going to pick Caitie based on personality. But based on the list of dishes I'd have trouble going with anyone who didn't put Beaches and Cream on their list!

Jason all the way! mickey

Joe and I are similar in eating habits and likes/dislikes that it's never a problem deciding and we never argue over where to go. Though sometimes he asks that we find a place with some healthier choices at least once or twice silly

No honey, not silly. Goofy. (Yeah, I hear the groans).

And you know I'd give up Boma for you - though I wouldn't like it very much!

It's a hard choice between both of you!

I love how both have Chefs de France, but Caitie has Tangerine Cafe and Jason has Crystal Palace so I think I'd just have to join both of you on different days.

The only other restaurant I'd add is Restaurant Marrakesh; it's one of my favourites.

Agreed! They have really good Baklava there! What do you order there J.P.?

I'm a vegetarian so I always get the Vegetable Couscous with Iced Mint Green Tea to drink. The baklava is my favourite dessert, but I also enjoy the fruit bowl with mint icecream.

What do you order? You're the first person I've met who has eaten there.
And has anyone else tried this restaurant?

We actually have eaten there - we ate there the last two times we went. The first trip we both LOVED it. On our honeymoon, though, we were given a terrible table in the corner where no waiters came for over 20 minutes after we sat down. We finally had to flag down someone who wasn't our waiter. The food, which we loved the first time, we found to be mediocre this time. The meat was overcooked, and the size of the side portions was on the very small side. We were disappointed enough that we said it would be a while before we went back.

Yeah, the first time we went we LOVED it. We added to our "Must Eat there every time we go" list. I am hoping it was just a bad night the second trip.

Second time I got

Harira Soup - traditional hearty soup flavored with tomatoes, lentils and lamb
Couscous - the national Moroccan dish - steamed tiny semolina pasta; with Lamb Shank
Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds

If i went back, i would want to not be on the dining plan so I could get the Feast...which WAS included the first time.
Why don't more people go there just from looking at the menus? Even is last time wasn't so good, looking at the descriptions is making me VERY hungry.

And i have never actually been to Tangerine Cafe, but have been interested in trying it!
