You are going to love Babycakes its all kinds of deliciousness! My tip would be if you are taking anything with icing (cupcakes, cupcake tops, cookie sandwiches) you might want to bring a cooler....I only ate half of mine and brought the other half home with me and the icing melted a bit sad

Seriously, has no one tried these yet? I've been waiting since January people! Luckily, it looks like I will have Dewinged Pixie to give me a full report!

I think it looks interesting..but then I think about frosting..and sugar..and eggs and all the wonderfulness that happens when those ingredients are combined.

I find it HILARIOUS that some people will not try this bakery JUST because it has healthy ingredients! Call something "vegan" and every fat, middle america, lard-face gets so scared that they feel the need to put something down without even trying it.

THIS is why Disney fans get a bad rap from everyone for being obese.

It's funny some people people aren't into trying something JUST because it doesn't kill animals and stuff their lard and fat into their baked goods. To me, it sounds like the opposite of what some Disney movies, Bambi especially, are about.

Hmmm..I think I am going to ignore the fact that you just called me a fat lard-face and welcome you to WDW for Grown-Ups!

I am actually excited about trying Baby Cakes and have been awaiting a report from someone who has been there for months..

KayB..I think I missed your last post! Yay!! I am glad it is yummy..I can't wait to try it.

No offense to you personally, I'm sure you're not a lard-face.

You can welcome me by coming with me to Babycakes.

Hey! Welcome to WDWFG!

On this forum we pride ourselves on being kind to one another, so even though you're upset that some folks aren't interested in visiting the bakery, we do ask that you not insult other members (even if it is your way of saying hello wink ). I agree with you that people tend to pre-judge certain things based on what they know they like -- I'm sure everyone does that from time to time -- but there are definitely ways to express your opinion without insulting others or making sweeping generalizations about entire populations. We tend to do "mature" as much as possible here on WDWFG. biggrin

That said, Emily's brilliant. She knew what she was up against opening the bakery in Disney World, and she's doing a great job. It can be a tough crowd to convince -- but we'll come around. From what I hear, we already are.

Personally, I've been to Babycakes multiple times and have enjoyed it greatly. One of our writers has even put together a very complimentary article about the bakery here: http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/articles/babycakes-downtown-disney.

Bella, I think I forgot to post a report on it sorry! I'm a little fuzzy on the details but it was really good! I tried two of their cupcakes but I don't remember the exact flavors but I liked them both! Hopefully I can get back over there before I head north for school...I follow them on twitter and am dying to try their donuts (and cookie sandwiches)!!!!!!! mickey

Here in St. Louis there is a Vegan Bakery and it is delicious. You wouldn't be able to tell a difference if someone didn't tell you it was Vegan. I had a meat-loving friend actually chose the bakery for her wedding cake just because she liked it so much.

I am sure we will walk by and see the delicious, pretty treats and won't be able to resist.

Warning I havent eaten gluten in over 7 years. My idea of what food should taste like is probably quite different than a normal person's. I lived through gluten free when the bread was like cardboard, and the cakes always fell appart and never rose. So my idea of tasty might be tainted. However I will have my lovely daughter who will eat any cake, and my bf who though will eat any cake will tell me the general differences between the cake I'm eating and a real one because I ask not to be malicious.

Can't wait to find out what you think! I highly recommend the frosting-filled cookies, too. DEEEElicious! And they have frosting shots at Babycakes once in a while -- you'll swear there's butter in there, but there's not!

Baby Cakes = Awesome! I love love love loved it! I tried 4 of the cupcakes and all of them were fantastic. Note due to them not using proccessed sugar these are not as sweet as what you are probably used to but they are amazing! I actually think most cakes are too sweet anyway and it subtracts from the flavor of the cake and its ingredients.

1. Brownie Bite Cupcake with Chocolate frosting- Tasted like a brownie with loads of chocolate chips. The frosting was light and sweet with hints of cocoas. This was delicious but nothing extraordinary as it was what it was meant to be a simple brownie with frosting.

2. Lemon Bite Cupcake - I should have gotten a full size one of these. The cake was not sweet but zesty. The cake had a delicate crumb but was on the drier side which matched the very zesty lemon. I suspect real lemon peal was in this one. The frosting a light sweet lemon (almost like lemonade) that though was suposed to be butter cream esque was more of a glaze heaped ontop in a butter cream formation. This frosting was perfect with the zesty lemon cake. LOVED this one!

3. Pumpkin Cupcake - This was the moistest cake of them all. The cake was dense and rich but very cinamony with hints of nutmeg and allspice. I felt this cupcake was over seasoned as I really love the taste of pumpkin and the spices over powered the subtle pumpkin flavors. The icing tasted like a butter cream mixed with cream cheese and was delicious the sprinkle of cinamon ontop however over powered this. I think next time I'll try to call in the morning and ask they set aside one with no cinamon sprinkled on top.

4. Blondie Chocolate Chip cupcake with Chocolate Frosting - This was my favorite of them all. It was like a good chocolate chip muffin moist but crumbly and it tasted like a really good home made chocolate chip cookie. The cake had good vanilla and buttery notes (almost butterscotch) and the chocolate was a nice dark chocolate chip which made for a great contrast. The frosting was the same as the brownie which was sweet with hints of buttery goodness and coacoa powder. I absolutely loved this one.

I 100% recomend baby cakes cupcakes if you want more flavor and less sweet. The donuts were baked not fried so I avoided them as they didnt look like what I'd want in a donut. The breakfast breads/cakes however looked dense moist and delicious. I will try some of those next time.

I think we just may have to try one too. Neither of us are big cupcake fans though. Also where is it in DTD. We have been there several times since they have opened and have yet to see it.

Its in the Pollo restaurant near the T-Rex.

I'm a huge cake fan but I really dont like cakes when they taste like all sugar.

I'm a big dessert fan all around really. Currently I'm eating skinny girl pie - Microwaved peaches and strawberries with 1 teaspoon of sugar. All the goodness of pie inards without the fat, calories, or expansion of the bottom regions.
