Wishes boatride

I'm interested in the premium wishes boatride. It sounds amazing. I like that you can have dinner on the boat and the music is piped in. The only issue is that its for 10 and there are 4 of us. Is there a way to hitch up to other guests to reduce the price?

Okay Donna, first of all , is this what your talking about:

MAGIC KINGDOM WISHES CRUISE (BASIC)
21' Tracker Pontoon

Price: $292.88, tax included for up to 8 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda and bagged snacks -Guests may order Private Dining to be delivered to the cruise. The sound from the fireworks show is not provided on the boat..

Magic Kingdom Wishes Fireworks Cruise Photos

MAGIC KINGDOM WISHES CRUISE (PREMIUM)
25' Tracker Pontoon

Price: $346.13, tax included for up to 10 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda, bagged snacks and and audio feed of the fireworks music -Guests may order Private Dining to be delivered to the cruise. The sound from the fireworks show is provided on the boat

If it is, do the basic. Music has been piped into all the boats for several years now, believe me, WE DO IT EVERY YEAR! It's up to you to find other people if you want to split the cost, Disney will not do that. You would have to pay the full price and get the money back from the other people. Disney will only deal with one person for the rental. Also, if the fireworks don't go off for some reason, you do not get a refund. The Pontoon boats are used on Seven Seas Lagoon for Wishes and Also at Crescent Lake for Illuminations, but it parks just under the bridge crossing over from the UK into France in the World Showcase. It will not go out onto the lake for the fireworks ( and it can get very smokey on the one, we did it once, ask Vettelover. Bumpy too if you have the right Captain!).

You can also do this:
VIP CRUISE ON GRAND I YACHT " A 45-foot Sea Ray yacht staffed by a captain and deckhand, 17/18 guest maximum, available at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Price: $520 for 60 minutes, $780 for 90 minutes, $1040 for 120 minutes
Call (407)-824-2682 to book.

NOTE: It is customary to give your "captain" a gratuity. A credit card guarantee is due at the time of booking, but full payment is not due until time of service.

Also, any food or drink other then the complimentary water, soda & chips & pretzels is extra and you can not bring your own. You would have to order it from Disney. We always have a bunch left over to take bake to the room because the captain doesn't want to have to get rid of it.

Specialty cruises can be booked up to 180 days in advance and there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Call: (407)-WDW-PLAY. NOTE: It is customary to give your "captain" a gratuity.

You can enhance your Specialty Cruise by adding food/drinks of your choosing. Arrangements can be made by calling Private Dining at the resort from which your cruise is launched:
Contemporary: 407-824-2955
Wilderness Lodge: 407-824-1043
Grand Floridian: 407-824-2473
Polynesian: 407-824-2165
Yacht and Beach Club: 407-939-3160

Here is the type boat we usually get. Seats up to 10, but you can go out with one person. There is not a table of any kind on these boats to eat a meal.

That is what I was talking about. Why do they specifically say no piped music? Is disney trying to get more $? Where have you eaten dinner prior to setting off? In just doing lots of pre planning for a trip over a year away. The luxury of time!

There are many reasons that this could be the case. It could be that the 21' boats are simply older and haven't been upgraded to be able to facilitate the music. Rather then keeping those boats docked during the show, by offering a cruise without music they can still put them in service. It also offers the opportunity for guests who don't want to pay a premium price an option to "save money" yet still have a special experience.

Just to provide another point of view. We did the Wishes pontoon boat thing and will never do it again. It sounds good, but you are out in the middle of nowhere a million miles from the fireworks and it was actually pretty boring.

I never did the Illuminations cruise, but I have watched Illuminations from the bridge right above where the boats are parked and I paid zero for my superior view.

It's says that because they never updated the page. That info is from WDWINFO.com, not Disney. All of the boats pipe in the music. Watching from Seven Seas Lagoon gives you a larger viewing area. Also you don't have to deal with the crowd racing out of the park if you want to leave. Also you don't have the infamous person putting there child on their shoulders in front of you just as the fireworks start. On the cruise it's like the show is just for you. They take you around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, past the Wilderness Lodge and old River Country & Discovery Island. It's just a fun experience, but not for everyone.

We are doing this for my goddaughters 12th birthday on Sunday night, with birthday decorations and an Ariel cake on the premium cruise. Please let it be the most amazing thing she's seen. We are having dinner at kona cafe before hand and leaving from the poly clapping

She's had some rotten birthdays in the past few years so she asked her Godmother (moi) to help her have a great birthday this year. So naturally I turned to the pixie dust for help.

And you guys for advice Smile

I hope so, their father was in a terrible accident 3 years ago and left him quadrapeligic and the mentality of a 13 year old. So this is the first time they will have a vacation since then. We've dubbed it the girlie trip and leaving my husband at home as well so they can go with the girlie theme and see if we can take their minds off of reality for a little while.

JustCar, we do the Wishes Cruises all the time, its great. Depending on the season, it could be chilly, but its still fun. Ask for John James as your Captain, he is really great.

You can request, but no guarantee. If you do get him, tell him we sent you! Get the smaller Pontoon Boat if you have 8 or less people, it will save you some money and you're not crowded. Snacks and sodas are included, the captain will have them onboard when you get there. arrive 15 minutes early to settle up your bill. If you're celebrating , let them know and they will have a banner on the boat & balloons.
