Working for Disney

Hello everyone! It's been over 6 months since I posted - and I'd love to say it's because I've been so insanely busy with my very exciting life... But it's nothing that awesome. After our last trip, the boyfriend and I realized that perhaps the two week trip to Disney wasn't as well timed as we'd hoped. He'd been ill for the majority of the previous year and hadn't been working - and it turns out that a two week trip to Disney where there were some complications with the exchange rate on my credit card resulted in a fair bit more debt than we'd initially planned.

Skip ahead to earlier this year and the housing market in our city is as affordable as it's ever been - which is saying something because buying a home here requires nearly half an million dollars on average. We managed to find a newly renovated 3 bedroom townhouse well within our price range and fell in love. Flash forward to today and we're moved in and settling well in our very first home! Everything is going extremely well and we're able to make our payments - but the Disney debt left over from our previous trip is starting to be ever present in my mind.

I figured that since it's the summer coming up, and things at work are normally pretty quiet, I'd pick up some extra work on the side - but couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. Our new home is close to several strip malls and one large shopping centre, so there's lots to choose from. It wasn't until this morning that I recalled that there is a Disney store in the biggest mall just two blocks from our new place... That would be way too good to be true.

I popped on the Disney careers site and discovered that there are two part time positions open, both with hours that fit what I'm looking for! I've submitted my application today and am anxiously awaiting the news! I've always dreamed of getting a job at one of the parks... But this would do very nicely in the mean time!
