Would you rather have cell service and internet so that you can stay connected to the world or have neither so that you could just completely relax?
Ooooo that's a tough one for me. Since I've started "working" while at Disney, I'm not sure how I would feel about beig disconnected. However when I was forced to disconnect in the Caribbean, I loved it!
I am not a fan of my cell phone at all. I do like being on the internet though (dont we all). I would not have a real problem though if none of it were available while on vacation. We have not watched tv while on vacation in years and that is a real nice break. I do not even miss it.
I do use the internet while down there in the evening to keep up with you peeps. Also I use my iphone for the disney apps and facebook, and it is nice to have those games to play while waiting in line (what did we do in line before cell phones) lol. But as far as making phone calls I think i hardly make any while we are down there cause all the people who I would call are already there with me.
Cell service.
I had to admit that having my cell phone has made things easier on vacations.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

I would love to disconnect from the rest of the world while in the World, however the rest of the world does not stop so even though I try to never use the phone, It's there if I need it.
It's nice to have the choice even if I decide not to use it.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.
I wouldn't mind disconnecting altogether. I could live without Internet but not my cell phone. Although I don't use it much it's nice to have when we split up and need to get in touch with one another. And besides, how can you call the red phones in Epcot while you are there if you don't have a cell phone?
Ehhh.... I need my phone. I enjoy be connected to humanity... lol

I could toss it all and be happy
We always take our cell phones everyone. Not that we answer them. If its an emergency they can text or leave a voice-mail. I like having the laptop in the room so we can Skype our parents so they can see the kids while on vacation and post pictures on Facebook. But in reality we go on vacation to get away from our families so we don't want to spend our vacation talking to them.
Neither! I never bring phone/internet devices on vacations. I like to disconnect and enjoy my hiatus from everyday life. If something is REALLY that important, my family can call my resort.
Ah, a question that one REALLY has to analyze before leaving on a Disney Cruise (connected for a HUGE cost or free from communication). We enjoy being completely cut off --- except for emergencies, which sadly DO occur.
When on land vacations, we keep our phones on, but we tell everyone to only contact us in case of an emergency. We DO stay connected to internet, facebook, email, etc... and, honestly, when we are on the cruise ship I don't miss it, but for some reason can't stay away from it when on land and it's no additional charge.

One of my sisters (who is also a WDW fanatic, DVC member, and has probably been close to 30 times) has gotten into "checking in" on facebook. She checks in to the parks, to restaurants, to rides....pretty much every single thing she does while there. haha And sadly, she has gotten me into it, but not quite as bad. I "check in" to the parks and sit down restaurants now. She and i really keep up with each other's trips (when we're there without each other) by doing this and commenting on things.

Yeah i'm just as bad as your sister. LOL
Cell service! I like to know what is going on in the World! Although I imagine it must be so nice not be have to be connected!

I want access!
I totally collected Disney stamps on Gowalla and I was Mayor of my resort and several other places on my last WDW vacation on Foursquare. I've gone to WDW solo several times and having a connection to FB is awesome.

i say NEITHER!
When i went to WDW in 2010 i was in a really bad place emotionally.
Being cut out off the world helped a lot.
i'll never forget that 'rest for the soul' Orlando is the right place for it.
I'd like to have wifi this trip so I can find my group. We all have different agendas and we use apps to find each other.
No, i would like to have cell service off, and get a completely relax and enjoy my private space.

Ditto. Although it isn't entirely by choice sometimes. My Canadian cellphone doesn't always work in the U.S., even though it's a smartphone. Our carrier has a reciprocal agreement with Verizon, but they don't like pay as you go phones, so they kick me off all the time. Not a big deal - even at home, I rarely use it. And I can't be bothered to bring the tablet or netbook either - I'm on vacation!

Well being a 15-year-old, you know my answer. STAY CONNECTED!

We like to stay connected when we go but try not to overdo it by being on facebook and twitter on the phones very often. We like to check once in a while and see what's been going on, and we feel comfortable having the phones with us in case of an emergency. As far as email/internet and television usage while on vacation we choose not to do it. It's nice to be somewhat disconnected...we want to enjoy our time together.
Wellllll...normally I like being incommunicado while I'm on vacation...but on my upcoming trip (67 days, y'all!), I'll be with a bunch of other adults. One of those adults is my mom, who might need to rest more than the rest of us youngsters. So, considering that, and also considering the fact that our group might split up at times to see/do different things...I think having cell phones is kind of essential for this trip. That way, if mom goes back to the resort for a nap, when she gets up, she can call me and I'll let her know where to meet me when she comes back to the park.
Now, my WORK cell phone? That bad-boy is gonna be locked in my desk drawer at the office!
I like having and using my iPhone at WDW. Before Gowalla changed their format I loved ollecting the Disney stamps and I was the mayor of my room for quite some time even after I left the world.

That's easy! Cell phone and internet service! 1. the use of WDW apps 2. if you're with a large group that splits up to do different things you can stay in contact if plans change 3. Tweeting and posting on Facebook pictures of you on your vacation to make everyone back home jealous! and 4. YOU CAN TURN YOUR PHONE OFF! If you ever want to disconnect, you can! Or just turn your phone on airplane mode and continue to use internet service if there is wi-fi and you would still be unreachable by the outisde world (except for obviously web-based forms of communication)
Follow along on our adventure as we make the move for a great life, and move to Orlando!

Ugh this is a hard question! When we went to Mexico for a week last year we weren't able to use our cells or internet without HIGH charges so we skipped it. Beforehand I thought I would hate it and afterward I had to spend several days catching up, but I actually enjoyed the week of being away from it all with no connection to anyone besides DH
Now if I actually had access to my phone and internet, I don't think I could resist the temptation...
