Yacht Club, Beach Club or Boardwalk

My wife and I are planning our trip in October. We are trying it decide if there is a better choice between the three resorts near Epcot. I like the Yacht Club but my wife is not a big fan of the style. It will just be she and I so seeking anyone who may have recommendations amongst yacht club, beach club and boardwalk. We are looking for the smaller level of kids.....

Thank you,

Brian

I think for less kids you would be better in the yacht club, though let's face it - it's disney and kids are everywhere Wink we stayed in the beach club as I preferred the look out of the 3 of those. We had a lovely time. I don't think you could go wrong with any of those resorts xxx

Only have stayed at the Boardwalk and we loved it. Didn't see too many kids, but as Robyn said - kids are all over at Disney!

I like the theming of all the resorts at EPCOT, but what attracted us to the Boardwalk was the "happenings" going on even after the park closes.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of those choices!

Robyn - What are the room views like at BC? It seems you may get an EPCOT view for about the same price as garden? It has been a while since I researched all that! Smile

We've stayed twice at the Boardwalk now and are going back in September. We love it, especially the short walk to Epcot. We prefer the feel of the Boardwalk and enjoy the nightly entertainment.

Thanks for the quick information. This will be our first disney trip kid free as our youngest will be in college after 8 trips with our kids. We have always stayed off property but have decided to splurge on ourselves staying in park. And we really like the walkway to Epcot. From other reviews and what you all have said we definitely feel any of the 3 will be great.

HA! You don't even wanna know our view.... We were in the furthest away room possible overlooking a flat roof.... We couldn't open the windows cause the extractor fans were so loud from downstairs. I was peeeeeeeeved. First and only time we have paid cash to disney for a ressie, been DVC since then.

We've stayed at the Beach Club twice now. Our perspective and pros/cons:

Pros
Location! Love the easy walk to EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios.
Theming
Pool - Storm along Bay is our favorite pool. The sand, the lazy river...very enjoyable!
Beaches and Cream, cape May cafe are so close!

Cons
Sometimes your room location can make you feel like you are lost in a big maze
It's always freezing in the corridors! In September we roasted outside with the heat, and then froze to death walking to our room.
Storm along bay. It attracts lots of kids (but what pool doesn't?). The first time we were there, our room overlooked the pool, and right smack in the middle of the afternoon they had kid hour with blaring music and kiddie activities in the pool. But they do also have quiet pools.

I do think each of them will have some level of pros and cons, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Yacht Club has the fewest kids and a quiet atmosphere...you can always walk over or take the Friendship to Boardwalk for nighttime activities.

Okay, here's my take because my fiance and I were in the same quandary as you two: Looking at Boardwalk Inn, I got to see a little of it when on my way to Kouzzina. Thought it was nice. When it came time to decide where to stay for our upcoming May 2014 Disneymoon, we said let's choose one of the following: Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Yacht Club. Well, I did not care for the main pool at Boardwalk Inn, very disappointing. So then it was on to deciding between Yacht & Beach, especially because of Stormalong Bay and the fact that the Boardwalk is right there for you to still enjoy. So looking at the rooms and overall decor, I had heard that Yacht was more "adult" and quieter than Beach; Beach being more for families with kids. Well, I'm like your wife. I didn't care for the decor of the rooms and overall at Yacht. It is pretty and classic, but I preferred the "lighter" look at Beach. My fiance also surprisingly didn't care for Yacht's look either; I figured he wouldn't have cared less. But he loves the beach like I do so it became a no-brainer for us: Beach Club it is then. Which is where we will be in May. I understand what you mean about the kids, but as someone else already pointed out, it's Disney World. Yes, I too was in your shoes about that and then I realized that Yacht Club being quieter or not or Beach Club being too noisy because of the kids, the fact is that there's going to be kids at all three no matter what because it's Disney World. I realized it and chose the place that I found had more going for it to suit my and hunny's tastes and hope for a fun trip. Both you & your wife should pick whichever one suits to your tastes more and go with that choice. I have found from all the researching I did on the three when having to choose back then is that they all seem to be excellent. However, I will add this: Boardwalk Inn does NOT have Stormalong Bay, whereas Yacht & Beach share, and the Boardwalk itself is open to EVERYBODY THAT IS VISITING DISNEY WORLD. Keep that in mind. In other words, at Yacht & Beach, you get an awesome pool plus the Boardwalk whereas Boardwalk Inn is just as classy, the Boardwalk is literally right there, but you have one scary-looking, atrocious-looking, ridiculous-looking clown slide and main pool that just seemed so boring and not worth it in my opinion. That was the deciding factor for me. Just my two cents. Hope this helps.

We stayed at the Boardwalk and enjoyed it very much, we did club level and spent more time in the lounge than our room. We could see the fireworks from illuminations. We're staying Beach for F&W this year and are looking forward to it. We've walked through the Yacht and ate at the Yachtsman's restaurant but I had no desire to stay there. I'm looking forward to storm along bay and we love the evening activities on the Boardwalk too!
