Year-long lurker finally outs self!

Hi everyone! I feel like I know you since I've been reading this forum for a year. My name is Noel; I'm 44 and a mom to a 4 year old.

First, thank you so much for such an informative and happy place to plan for a Disney World vacation. My S.O., son and I had a memorable 6 day trip to the world last fall, mainly due to all the great tips I gleaned from here.

We are currently planning a 3 night adult trip at the end of October to hit the Food and Wine festival while visiting Nana who lives on the Gulf. Our best friends are even flying all the way to Orlando to join us to help celebrate S.O.'s 50th birthday. We are also planning a Disneyland trip at the end of January for my son's 5th birthday; and so far it looks like A LOT of family will be joining us.

I've been to Disneyland often enough that I've lost count, starting with my first trip at age 7. I worked as a cast member at Disneyland for 9 months in 1997, I spent a day at Disney Paris, and have been on one Disney cruise. I love all the great food options and immersive experience of the world, which makes it different than Disneyland, and more of a "vacation".

I'm looking forward to getting to know you, and maybe even contribute once in awhile.

Best,
Noel

Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm happy to be here.

I'm very much a foodie. When I'm not cooking or eating I'm usually planning the next time I will be! We live in a small town which has a lot of barely mediocre restaurants and the few we will eat at, well, we get tired of them. When we are on vacation, we probably look forward to dining out more than anything. Last trip our signatures were Artist Point and Flying Fish. This trip we are trying the California Grill.

When I have a chance, I'll get to writing about what my favorites are between WDW and DL.

Oregon Mom - Welcome!

The title of your message cracks me up! Sounds like a newspaper headline!

Wow - you've done it ALL! That's awesome!

And you're super-lucky to be able to go during Food and Wine. Have you visited the Disney Food Blog? They've got an incredibly exhaustive page dedicated to F&W, which may help you in your planning:

Welcome, Noel! We're glad you decided to join up Smile

I'd love to hear your impressions of Flying Fish. I'd really like to go there sometime soon. What's your fave restaurant at Disney World so far? What's your fave at DL too, by the way?
