Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Pre-trip Report From Me

Three weeks to go! Time to get my pre-trip going, and then I'll post pics and such as we go! It's a quick trip this time - just three days, April 8, 9, 10. We're at All Star Sports. (I was coerced.)

It'll be an interesting trip - our first time with MBands and FP+. We're "Casual Commandos." We plan well, wait little, and ride much; but we don't run around like manic crazy people. (We walk calmly, like civilized crazy people.) It'll be interesting to see how FP+ changes/fits into our usual style and FP use. I love the "My Disney Experience" app so far. Crowd levels are 4/5/6 (depending who you ask) all three days.

Day One

The two good things about our flight ... Airports are not crowded at 6:30am, and we'll be in Orlando by 9:00. I'm looking forward to flying JetBlue for the first time. I hear the leg room is better and snacks and soda are free. Heck, by the time they roll the cart and we munch, it'll almost be time to land!

Hopefully, MExpress and Check-In at All Star Sports will be quick. We have a FP+ appointment with Peter Pan! We'll stash our carry-on (to hold our plane stuff) at the resort and head right to the MK. Wish we didn't need the carry on, but we'll be leaving cold weather and landing in hot weather, so we'll need to stash those jackets.

It's MK day! clapping

12:30 FP Peter Pan
1:00 Small World (Again, I was coerced.)
1:30 FP Haunted Mansion
2:00 Lunch at Columbia Harbour House
2:30 RT WDW RR, Maybe TS Island and/or Country Bears
3:30 FP Splash Mountain
4:00 Whatever-We-Want time & Dole Whips
5:30 Pirates
6:00 Tiki Room
6:30 Swiss Family Treehouse
7:00 Jungle Cruise
7:30 Dinner at Cosmic Ray's
8:00 Space Mountain, Buzz, Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress
10:45 Bail MK before crazy crowd time

In 35 years, I've never experienced the raging exodus at the end of the night ... and I hope I never do! eek

Day Two

Animal Kingdom EMH rope drop! To the right, down the sneaky path, and beat the crowd to Everest! Then Dinosaur. Then, maybe Everest and Dinosaur again! (And then maybe Everest and Dinosaur again.)

8:00 AK EMH rope drop
8:30 Everest
8:45 Dinosaur
9:00 Do it all again!
11:00 Kali River Rapids
12:00 Resort Sun-Swim-Lunch-Rest time

Over to Epcot!

2:30 FP Spaceship Earth
3:00 The Seas with Nemo
3:30 FP Soarin'
4:00 FP Journey Into Imagination
4:30 Club Cooooooooool! cool
5:00 Snack
5:30 Test Track Single Rider
6:00 Whatever-We-Want time, UK, Friendship Boats
7:00 Maelstrom (hopefully twice)
7:30 Gran Fiesta Tour
8:00 ADR San Angel Inn
9:15 Hopefully get the heck out before the raging exodus

Day Three

Last day! So soon! We'll check out early early and head back to the Magic Kingdom. Sleep? Who needs to sleep? I'll sleep when I'm dead.

8:00 MK EMH rope drop
8:15 Little Mermaid
8:30 Winnie the Pooh
9:00 Buzz Lightyear
9:30 Tomorrowland Whatever-We-Want time
11:30 Lunch at Cosmic Ray's

Over to the Studios!

12:30 FP Tower of Terror
1:30 FP Toy Story
2:30 FP Great Movie Ride

It's already over?!?!?! Ah, well. At least we got a night flight back.

Aaaaaand, back to real life and New York City. Fuggitaboudit!

Thanks! I like to have a framework, and it's fun to plan. We always end up diverting from it, but with the new FP+ scheduling, it just made sense to go ahead and figure out which direction we're headed in between. I mean, I'd already had to decide where we'll be when, so I just filled in the blanks. I actually changed a few FP selections so we'd be going in a line, rather than criss-crossing the park.

As Eisenhower said prior to D-Day... The first casualty of battle is the plan.

It's a small crowded/unpredictable/crazy world.

WOW! And you actually expect it to all work out that way? Seriously, thats looks more full out commando, 30 min between each thing. Well I hope it all works out for you. That is definitely a plan!

And on that note, I'm having a fussy, non-magical, over-sensitive week, so I'll take a break from the forum for a while.

Sorry Phill, I honestly didn't mean anything by that comment, just, that would seem awfully time constrained to us. Everyone has a different way to do the parks. We are never in a hurry. We usually have an ADR or two planned and thats it. We take each day as it comes.

This sounds like a blast Phill, and I agree, it is tons of fun to plan, even if you don't end up doing what you planned! I find it therapeutic! I hope your week improves, and just remember, each day is one day closer to this fun trip you have planned! mickey clapping

Sounds like an amazing plan. Sleep is highly overrated! I can't wait to hear how the trip went.

I did Jet Blue last June and it was awesome. Decent leg room, little screens in the back of the chair in front of you so you can watch the plane's progress. I'm a panicky flyer. That screen was a godsend. Unfortunately, our "local" Jet Blue direct flight to MCO are out of DCA which means driving farther, encountering heavier traffic, paying more to park and having to deal with the crappy DCA airport. I though BWI was a depressing place to fly home to. Until I flew home to DCA. Now I love BWI. laugh We've always done AirTran out of BWI and we'll be trying Southwest for the first time this trip.

I love the term "casual commandos"--fits how we tour to a T. I'll be borrowing your phrase. FP+ was awesome for us in December, so hopefully since we tour similarly, it will be fabulous for you, too.

Be advised: I read an article last night about there being some kind sing-a-long to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of It's a Small World on April 10. I was bummed because we're going to miss is by a day, but you might want to search for more details and steer clear!! IASW 50th Anniversary Sing-a-long,
