Your Dream DVC

If you could buy into DVC anywhere (you know..that's already a DVC..Jupiter isn't an option) where would it be? We are pretending here that availability, price etc isn't a option.

Call me crazy..but I'd probably pick Old Key West. eek
I know.
But we rented points there on our last trip and we just loved it! I loved how peaceful it was and how isolated we felt from our neighbors. We checked into POR for the last night of our stay and all we could talk about is how we could hear people screaming up and down the hallway while they were rolling their luggage behind them. We were on the first bus stop so this might have had something to do with it. I do think it needs a bit of updating but I doubt it will be long before Disney comes along with a feather duster and a new flatscreen television.
And of course, if we ever needed that real "Disney feeling" that so many other resorts give we could just stay somewhere else. That's the beauty of DVC!

Nothing crazy at all about that response Bella. Many DVCers love OKW. It does boast the biggest villas of all the DVC resorts. I agree that it's peaceful and secluded enough to make you feel like you've really escaped. And the proximity to DtD is a plus.

That said though, if we were to add on, and could add on anywhere, it'd probably be Beach Club Villas.

I think the Beach Club Villas are great because of their location. Is there anything else that's particularly cool about them? Stormalong bay maybe?

Any choice I made would be over-ruled by Mrs T unless it was for Bay Lake Tower, purely on it's location.

I wonder why Disney decided to make the DVC rooms SMALLER after building OKW... seems a bit backwards, but I guess it's all about money savings.

I think I would buy into BLT, Beach Club Villas, and Kidani. Oh, and VWL. (Sorry...is that too many?)

And Aulani!!!

I think my dream DVC would have to be Wilderness Lodge. That resort is so relaxing to me. I could easily spend a week there and not miss the parks.

I would have to cast a vote for AKL Jambo House Savana view. It is my very favorite of the ones I have tried so far.

This is probably my pick as well. Although I'd like to see Kidani Village from the inside first to make my choice.

Since I am a country boy, and spent much of my youth living in a 1 room log cabin without running water, I believe I would choose the Tree Houses at Saratoga Spirngs Resort. I know Jan would be content to just be wherever I was.

Love those pics of the Treehouse, Joe. I've never actually seen them or been there -- even before they were remodeled.

Lou and I went on a DVC tour while we were there! We are thinking of joining but not until about a year from now when we are settled in and the wedding is done. They were pushing Bay Lake Towers on us and we saw the model and absolutely hated it. Not our style. Even though it wil be a 45 year deal by then we may go with AKL. It's our favorite by far and we'd love to be able to book there 11 in advance to ensure a savannah view.

Are they offering any incentives right now?

I don't LOVE the BLT rooms, either, but I do LOVE the location!

I always find it intriguing how before BLT was built you simply had to get into Kidani according to all the reps. Now all the sudden Kidani's no good and you must get BLT. It kind of hurts their credibility how they always push whatever's convenient.

Did you get a free Fastpass for taking the tour??! When we went we thought that was awesome. We got to see was BLT and the Treehouses would look like (they weren't finished yet) AND we got a free Fastpass!
