welcome Hi there Traylorc! Great shots! Vibrant color, great detail, sharp edges, what are you shooting with? Are you post processing?

Hi Kristen...thank you very much.

I shoot Nikon simply because it's the DSLR a friend of mine was using when I started getting into photography a couple of years ago.

When I at Disney, I generally set my camera on the Vivid setting...this setting pumps up the colors. WDW is big, beautiful, brightly colored place...and the Vivid setting really captures the "feel" of WDW. I am also a big believer in purchasing the highest quality glass/lens you can afford...this can help bring out the detail in your pictures. I complete some post processing in Lightroom, but I try to remind myself to focus on using the correct settings in your camera so I do not have to spend all day processing my pictures.

Sometimes post processing is unavoidable...for the POTC shot some processing was necessary to reduce some of the noise in the background. The POTC was taken without the flash, which means I had to increase the camera's ISO which tends to lead to increased "noise" in the shot.

I really like this shot...the sepia color and blur around the edges emphasizes the "haunted" feel of the mansion.

Re:balloons anyone by traylorc - what camera did you use? How do you get such bright colours and contrasts?

Between the electrical parade, wishes and the castle projections, I barely get time to go on rides at night!

I was in Disneyland....I believe I was just about to get in line to ride Peter Pan's Flight when I looked across the way and saw the Evil Queen in the window. Basically the curtains continually open and then closes...so I waited until I could get a few good shots when the curtain was open.

traylorc, that picture is sick. It borders on comic book, yet the people look relatively normal. Are you getting these effects in Lightroom? very nice

Thanks Colonel...by the way I like your last castle shot. The detail on the bricks of the castle is amazing.

I do process my images through Lightroom. I also programs called Perfect Suite 7 & Photomatix. Photomatix is a program for processing HDR shots. My feelings toward HDR are mixed, in some instances the HDR can really enhance the shot. In other instances, it's so over the top I can't enjoy the image.

I elected to use an HDR for this image because the subject is Lightning McQueen....it's a character based on CGI technology so in my opinion using HDR "works". This character feels like it is straight out of the comics....therefore I elected to go a little "over the top".
