Your next NON-Disney trip

Where will your next vacation outside of WDW be?

I think I want to drive from the east coast to Vegas, then to Sedona and the Grand Canyon..... And maybe, just MAYBE stop in Cali for Disneyland (I have never been)! I just can't resist adding it to any trip I take! woops!

We always go to Gatlinburg for Christmas, but for our next big trip we are planning a trip to Scotland for my 50th Bday. 6 years aways and I'm already trying to figure out what all we want to do.

This weekend we're going to Maryland for Small Press Expo. There's actually going to be a lecture about the historical influence the early Mickey cartoons had on Japanese cartooning.

I'm going to San Antonio for the National High School Journalism convention with my school in November. Then in February I'm going on a cruise out of Galveston. I'll be driving by then! I just can't wait.

We were going to Pittsburgh at the end of the month, but that was cancelled due to the fact we just didn't feel like going! LOL

Guess our next trip is in November

Well.... I was going to Niagara Falls next month for a weekend on a bus trip. I just found it was canceled. A bunch of people canceled their reservations so they didn't have enough for the trip.

I will be going home to PA for Christmas.

Good afternoon!

I haven't been to WDW since December 2007.

I am less than ten months away from my 50th birthday and want to knock something off my bucket list: a baseball road trip!

Companies such as Jay Buckley's Baseball Tours of LaCrosse, WI; Sports Travel and Tours of Hatfield, MA; and Big League Tours of Greenwood, IN run four- to nine-day trips in specific regions of the United States in which you see at least one major-league game in each of several stadia.

As an example of my understanding of how this works, let me use Sports Travel and Tours (STAT), who sent me their 2012 brochure earlier this month. They run a trip that I, a rabid baseball fan, would love to do called Central Express (last one July 17-24, 2012). This usually involves six ballparks (Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular Fields in Chicago, IL; Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI; Target Field in Minneapolis, MN; Kaufmann Stadium in Kansas City, MO; and Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, MO), seven games involving eight different teams in eight days. The only thing I'd need to worry about is transportation from home to the start city and from the end city to home (because their customers come from all over), with all intercity travel by bus or plane; and spending money.

Jim

Wish I had a clue. Usually we have a big trip each summer. Last summer was to California, Oregon and Michigan, but with hubby deploying it may be a very dull summer..... waiting On the up side, we are either going to do Disney World or a Disney cruise before he has to go! yay

LeCellierBuff, we did a few baseball road trips back in the 1990s, but on our own, not with a guided tour. First was Detroit (old Tigers Stadium) and Cleveland (old Municipal Stadium) over a long weekend. Next was another long weekend in the Dallas area to see the old ballpark in Arlington. Next a two-week Midwest trip that included the new ballpark in Cleveland, both Wrigley and new Comiskey in Chicago, the big pillow-dome stadium in Minneapolis, and the old ballpark in Milwaukee. And the last one was a Southern California trip that involved Dodger Stadium, Anaheim, and the old stadium in San Diego. We haven't done any more, though; when there was talk of yet another baseball strike/lockout about ten years ago, I decided I wasn't investing one minute in another season that might end prematurely. And by the time I knew there wasn't going to be a strike, I'd found other ways to spend my summer leisure time. I'm only just now starting to get interested in baseball again.

I told you all a few weeks back my non Disney trip was a trip to the in laws. Well this is the trip that will not end. We are stuck here because of the storm. It could be far worse, we could be stuck in Baltimore as our original flight intended.

Our next non-Disney trip is Chicago next September for a cousins wedding. Really hoping we are able to sneak in a summer trip to Colorado or South Dakota to do some hiking. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Whoo hoo! I enjoyed our NCL cruise. We had coffee and chocolate croissants delivered every morning and it was wonderful! I wish I could start my day off like that every day.

For Christmas, the boyfriend and I are going to Atlanta to visit my parents and siblings for Christmas. It will be his first time meeting them.

We also decided the next vacay we are gonna plan is Las Vegas. I have never been, and before Wreck'em Ralph last night, they did like a spotlight on the Beatles Love. I love Cirque Du Soleil and I LOVE THE BEATLES. So yeah. We're going. crossfingers crossfingers

I thought I would bump this up again. What non-Disney trips are you planning for this year? I like to hear about other people's plans - maybe you are going somewhere I've never thought of. We are going to California in September - starting in San Francisco, ending up in L.A. Just for a week, and not going to Disneyland unfortunately. yuck

We are in Paris at the moment Laughing out loud it's a national holiday here and everything is shut today so we had a wonder round Montmartre and are now having some quiet time in the hotel. It's very hot here and all of the pretty gardens are closed so we can't even find somewhere to sit in the sun (or shade) and watch the world go by. Its gorgeous sitting in the room watching the world go by out of our huge windows though Smile

My next non Disney trip is Washington DC & other areas of the east coast. I plan on taking this tour & then stay in DC for seven to ten days so I can visit the various monuments, memorials & museums. It will probably be 2015 as there are a couple of things I need to do between the time I get back from DW in early February & when I start setting money aside for the DC trip.

Our next non-Disney trip will probably be Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which is where we own all the timeshare weeks that we use in trade to go to Orlando.
