Last fall Disney announced a new partnership with Turner Classic Movies and part of the new agreement was a planned update to the iconic Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The new, updated version of the attraction was recently unveiled at the theme park.
The Great Movie Ride is now sponsored by Turner Classic Movies and that sponsorship is apparent on the signs for the ride. Both the ride marquee and the movie posters outside and inside the attraction's queue feature the TCM logo. The large marquee inside the ride also features a TCM logo.
Perhaps the biggest update to the queue is the all-new video sequence. Gone is the dated pre-ride video which has been replaced by a new pre-show video that is narrated by TCM host Robert Osborne. The new pre-show video takes guests through the various film genres.
None of the film sequences in the ride have been altered, but guests will now hear a pre-recorded narration by Osborne in addition to the popular spiel by cast members.
The final film montage has also been updated to include several new films including last year's hit Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Many of the older film clips are still included in the end-of-ride montage.
