Two of Disney's moderate resorts, Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach, are getting some major upgrades in the next two years. The changes include new buildings, new dining experiences, and new retail spots.
The expansion project at Coronado Springs includes a new 15-story tower with 500 new rooms including suites and concierge service. The tower will also feature a rooftop dining experience with views of the fireworks at the theme parks.
Coronado Springs will also refurb current rooms and update the landscape with floating gardens and an island oasis. A series of bridges will connect the resort with the new oasis.
At Caribbean Beach Resort the resort's marketplace, Centertown, will be updated with waterfront dining and retail shopping areas. The goal at Caribbean Beach is to offer guests more access to services and dining.
The renovations at both resorts is scheduled to take about two years, which means they will likely be ready around the time that Star Wars Land opens in 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
