I am newer to the boards and I am not sure if this has been posted about yet. I found a site that I found useful in trying to a general idea I would be spending out of pocket for food in addition to the dining plan. I just thought I would share it with everyone

That is very cool. But my boyfriend and I already figured out that the DDP usually saves us money on our trips. One trip in the first day, I think it's when we used the deluxe dining plan, we would of spent $150 total at one restaurant out of pocket. Since that's how much we roughly paid for the dining plan, we were hooked. That wasn't including other meals and snacks.
We've never done the DDP.......something I've meant to look in to someday.....

This is great and confirms that based on the way we eat, ddp is not the best value for us. I wish it was because I would love to be able to prepay my meals without buying gift cards.

The DH and I like to eat when at Disney so the deluxe dining plan is a great value for us. Also the last couple times we have gone to Disney in September they have offered free dining and we have really saved some money!
Wow we really save not having the dining plan. Plus being DVC members and having a tables in wonderland card I don't think we will ever do the dining plan ever again. Thanks for sharing!
