Do you "go commando?"

No, that's NOT what I mean. sarcastic

What I mean is, do you spend long, do-everything-today days in each park, or do you spend short periods in several different parks throughout the day (building in rest time at the resort, etc.)?

We've migrated from one to the other, so I'm wondering if it's just a standard "maturation" process as you visit WDW more, if it happens differently based on the length of your vacation or number of people in your party, or what.

I think it definitely happens the more you've been there. If you've gone a lot and will probably go again soon, there's not as much need to see everything. If you may not be back for 5 years, it feels important to check out everything because it might change.

Our last 2 trips were one of each, And I realized that you loose a lot more time than you might think traveling between parks. So from now on it's Commando.
(But I'm keeping on my boxers.)

That is true. As much as I like the "low-key" approach, if you spend an hour getting in and out of a park, just to spend an hour in the parks, you're costing yourself a lot of your vacation. That being said, I still find I enjoy the vacation more if I just take it easy.

We mix and match, usually. At the beginning of the vacation, it's commando--go to each park for a day and hit as many rides as we can. Then, for the second half, we like to take it easy, return for the rides we love, and chill out a bit.

Good morning!

Though I always wear underwear, I spend a relatively short time at each park, and do a lot of park hopping.

I sort of tend toward this approach. Where you're a bit more active at the start of the trip and once you've gotten everything in you can slow down. I also tend to push to do more on days when the crowds are light, because you don't know if you'll get that opportunity again.

We like to determine pre-trip the major things we want to see: so if there's a new attraction in one of the parks, that will go on that list, along with all of our favorites from previous trips.

Those things become the major TO-DOs for the trip, and we space those out over the days we're there. All the rest of the time is spent relaxing, or spontaneously hitting rides and shows we weren't planning on.

My vacation style in general is commando. I try to cram in as much sight-seeing and activities as I can. But then I tend to wind up needing a vacation after my vacation because I'm exhausted. I'm forcing myself to take some afternoon breaks during my WDW trip so I get at least some relaxation in. We'll see how that goes. crossfingers

I strongly recommend a daily nap while at WDW! It's hot and crowded during the afternoons anyway!
